I'm so sorry that you lost your beloved baby. You did everything possible to help him and you couldn't have done any more for him. You are an awesome Yorkie daddy. You ended his suffering when you knew the time had come to let him go. Now you have a little Yorkie angel smiling down upon you from heaven. Bless you.

Damn. I hoped the post would not end this way. Can you speculate on a cause of the kidney failure and did you ever feed him some of that food with the Chinese wheat in it?

I just wanted to say how very sorry I am, I just read this entire thread and was hoping and praying through the whole thing. Now the tears are flowing and I'm all choked up. May your sweet baby boy rest in peaceful sleep.

He ate Science Diet all his life.

The Dr called it Acute Onset of Chronic Kidney Failure. His overall health, and some indicators such as white blood cells and low platelettes seem to point to a more acute cause. The Dr in Gainesville at the end said, purely speculation but if he had to say, he thinks it was an infection, possibly in the intestines that somehow got into areas it shouldn't have, such as the kidneys. His kidneys showed no real signs of chronic damage.

We have no real answer. That makes it even more difficult to accept.

I'm so sorry to hear that Mogli is sick. I can only imagine what you must be going through. I hope that Mogli gets better soon and enjoys 2008 to the fullest! My heart is breaking for you right now. The love between you and Mr. Mogli shows so much in your posts. We will never be able to understand why such innocent little creatures have to suffer and why we are put thru the tests of watching them. Letting go is the hardest decision to make, but just knowing that the suffering is over will help start the healing process. Now, every time you feel the tiniest of breezes on your cheek, that is Mr. Mogli giving you a little angel butterfly kiss and when that breeze brushes your arm, that is Mr. Mogli's angel wing letting you know he is, and always will be, right there beside you - watching over you until you are together again. His little spirit will never leave your side. I am so very sorry for your loss. Sleep peacefully, Precious Baby Boy.

Sitting here my eyes filled with tears just hearing about the little man's passing so i cannot even begin to imagine the pain you must be in. I am so sorry for your lose the love you had for him def shows you did everything you could to help him and make him comfortable and in the end made one of the hardest decisions that there is but i hope you find comfort in knowing that you did what was best for him and holding him in your arms when he left was one of the greatest things because he knew through it all that his daddy was there and loved him.
