| we got sadie's blood pressure under control but now we have problems with my other yorkie Samie. Her trachea has progressed and over the past two weeks she has had 2 bad coughing spells. I gave her hydromet and that calmed her down and she did ok. she had a bad attack last night and this morning she fainted and then had a seizure. i am going to have to post a seperate post on her though. |

| we are still dealing with the high lipase/amylase values. I just thought of something... Could the fact that Sadie eats her food in 25 seconds have anything to do with all of this??? i've read all about digesting and what not... I am not kidding- In December I started wetting her food- (soaking it in water overnight) when I put the food down she eats it literally as FAST as she can. Literally gulping it down as fast as she can. she does not eat slowly AT ALL. she cries when I go to feed her bc she is so happy to eat. Then when I put the bowl down- I have counted how long it takes her to eat. She is DONE in about 25 seconds flat. this cannot be a good thing. ?? both of my dogs eat this fast. |

| Well I am now feeding in smaller portions. I put food down for her and then I slowly add more and more until we are finished. she still eats it fast but this way it isn't AS fast. |

The specialist does not recommend Raw diets because of Salmonella, E-coli and food poisoning in general. Another nutritionist/hols vet I spoke to knew of our specialist and she said that he does not support it simply because he doesn't know anything about it. and he is a conventional vet. She said he is far too busy to research it bc he is a specialist in other areas- not nutrition. This nutritionist also tole me that she has gone on further to research raw diet for the last 10 yrs. she quickly said that with our issues we could feed raw diet and add supplements. She was VERY addimate about feeding raw diet too! she got like all defensive and all :-) the ONLY reason we are not deciding to go with her and go with dr shawn is bc she is much farther away for us. she charges 210.00 for 1 hr 30 min. dr shawn charges 67.50 for a 30-45 min visit. anyway I am just worried bc I know we need to feed a diet low in fat and high in fiber. I read that i could feed LOW fat raw such as turkey and venison and chicken but I am scared. I am not going to make this decision on my own. i will definitely see what the nutritionist says. I don't know who we are seeing just yet- I may call and cancel the appt for next week. I have the name of 2 other nutritionists that were given to me here on YT that do phone consults so I may consider that instead. so confused. If we didn't have the protein loss with the kidneys and pancreatic symptoms... which we were told by the specialist that this is probably from the raised BUN (60) that we are having high lipase values. ok- going to put my weary brain to rest for a while :-) | |

I just wanted to add one more thing. Today I went to the Pet Supply to replenish Mango's NV raw food. I told them about my concerns with her vomiting. They suggested that I add a product called "Enzymes and Probiotics", made by NaturVet. This is recommended to help support a healthy digestive tract. I am going to start adding this to all Mango's meals. I truly feel for you because I can just feel your anxiety. Good luck!!! Lauren
