Riley got his vaccinations at 9am this morning and he just threw up 5 times in under 5 minutes!! He isn't swelling or anything like that. I called the vet they said benadryl. How much does he need? Hes 6 months 2.5lbs. TIA

I found this on another thread. You may want to call the vet too. Hoep he's better soon

ml and cc are the same thing
5ml = 1tsp=12.5mg
2.5ml= 1/2 tsp=6.25mg
1.25= 1/4 tsp=3.12mg
1/4 tsp per 5lbs
I confirmed this with the vet.

I think you need to get him to the vet! He's prolly reacting and is allergic to the meds he got this morning! Please get him in there, and if you can't get him there, take him to an Emergency vet! Good luck!!!

I have read 1mg per lb. Do you have liquid or tablets? I would call the vet back and make sure of the doseage.

I called her back. She said 1/4tsp. Thank god I live across the street from a grocery store. He hasn't thrown up again, but hes kinda shaking off and on. I think its because hes cold though. I had to take him with me. Theres no way I would have left him alone. The workers at the store were harassing me for bringing him in and all I said was "I DON"T CARE!" They finally got the point to back off. Lol.

If he isn't better in a couple of hours I would get him to a vet.

If he keeps throwing up you need to get him to the vet because that would be a serious reaction.

I do not want to scare you but please watch closely. When Ellie had a vaccine reaction she threw up once and then collapsed (went into shock). This happened immediately after she threw up though. Benadryl is good and please watch.

for upset stomach -my vet says to give 1/4 tablet 1 x per day.

Please make a good vet see him, I had one that had a reaction to his needles and the vet kept telling me to give him over the counter medication, he got worse and I took him to the vets, while waiting for him to come in, the receptionists which I thought one was a vet tech, put the oxygen mask on him and they did not turn it on, he died in front of me. So I do not always trust a Vet now..Some I feel it is a good paying job and other's it is there life..

The vet I have now will NOT give both needles the same day, he will give one and two weeks later give the other one when the dogs are so tiny/small
