Scooter needs your prayers! Infection. Arghh!! Scooter was neutered 3 weeks ago and has been doing fine. His incision was healing nicely. This morning however, it's swollen, very red and inflammed!! There also appears to be 2 small bruises - don't know where that's coming from. This had to have happened since Sunday night because I combed him then and everything looked just great!! I had dental surgery yesterday and didn't comb him last night - my bad!! - if I had done what I should have, I would have noticed it then. His Daddy is taking him to the vet at 10:00 AM today. Please pray that if it had to be an infection that it's just a normal, run of the mill sort and not a staph infection. He's still eating, drinking, and playing like nothing at all is wrong. As soon as I know what's going on, I'll update this post. Thank you for all your prayers!!

Scooter's Surgery Hi Jody, My name is Vicki and I will say a prayer for your little Yorkie. My little girl (Precious) is having her surgery this friday along with some dental work. Please say a little prayer for her too if you would please. I am really nervous about it as she is only 1 1/2 years old and 3.5 pounds. I really trust my vet, he has been a part of our family for almost 18 years. I hope Scooter gets better and just think positive it probably is just a little bruise from the surgery and infection around the incisions. Let me know. Thanks. Vicki

Thank you, Vicki and welcome to YT. I'll say a prayer for Precious, too. Scooter is 7 months old and weighs a little over 3 pounds. I'm sure your baby will do fine, let me know how she does!!

Update!! I just got a call from my DH. The infection was caused by sutures that didn't dissolve (Vet says sometimes happens with tiny dogs). He had to make a new incision and remove the remaining stitches, and then he put a staple in. He gave us an antibiotic cream to rub on the area, but he says Scooter should do fine. I'm so relieved!! Thanks for the prayers!

| oh YAY! I'm so glad it's not serious. My body hates stitches too, so I know how he feels. Our vet used surgical glue on our girls after their spay instead of stitches or staples. Worked GREAT!

DH brought him to me a work. He's currently laying on a pillow, wrapped up in a baby blanket in my lap!! He isn't spoiled at all. I feel so much better. Lunasmom - I'll remember the glue next time (if there is a next time). I'm sure that would be much better!! Vicki, Precious is so cute!!!
