| http://www.petplace.com/dogs/hepatic...ogs/page1.aspx Here is a link about hepatic encephalopathy. What you describe sounds like head pressing. My Yorkie's bile acid numbers are up and she is a piggy when it comes to food, so that is possible.

| I am not sure what it is, my husband isnt back yet with her for me to see it. They said she was doing that with her head because of the yeast in her ears?. She has been on ointment for them since last friday and I didnt see her doing that this morning for the first time in many months. I so hope she is properly diagnosed this time, I cant stand watching her suffer anymore. We are soon going to be both broke and broken hearted if this doesnt soon end. Thx again Sherri |

| Thanks for the help and warm welcome. I have spent the last two hours looking at all the yorkies pics and am totally hooked. It makes me want another yorkie so badly but Kass is a fighter. We got her for companionship for our other yorkie Kenji. The little scrapper used to go at him so bad it took two of us to pry her jaws apart to let him loose. Poor kenji was a lover and used to just lay there squealing for help. She even left her baby teeth in him it was that bad. My baby Kenji passed two years ago and I have been yearning for another ever since. Sherri |

| Yeast infection? Remember antibiotic use can cause this...Did they give her an anti fungal instead? Hmmmm? I wonder what caused her to have yeast infection, try to keep water out of her ears and her paws dry. Hope she eats the new food for you...good luck...and I'll keep Kassie in my thoughts and prayers.

| you would want to avoid any dry dog food that has grain in it or choose something that is very low grain... the higher quality food the lower the grain content, grain intolerence over time can cause heavy yeast in the ears, between the toes, cause body rash and loss of coat....I dont think your kid is having seizures, I think she is trying to soothe all that itching which may appear as head banging.... I hope your kid gets some relief soon...if you feed her anything beside the dry, try treating with boiled chicken or raw carrots...keep everything as grain free as possible....DO NOT USE any over-the-counter dog treats most all have heavy grain!

- sorry you are going through this as my dd is 3 years old and she started this whole thing at 6 mos and i have been to dermatologist, holistic vets, regular vets and yesterday went to dr. dodd's two hours a way a specialist in thyroid to rule out thyroid of which i do not think she has an issue with thyroid but wanted to rule out as thyroid can cause hairloss and itchy skin. Allergies and skin bacteria infections go hand and hand so probiotics and raw coconut oil help keep them down. Please do the extensive blood testing as it will cost you a fortune in allergy treatments and then you may just find it is a liver issue - join the liver shunt group and they will want you to do the pre and post bile as well - all yorkies and maltese should have this test done once people get them to know upfront - they can get symptoms later in life if they are not on low protein diet - 22% with no symptoms, 18% with symptoms for protein in foods so check the foods you are on .. Home cooking is best for allergies and liver issues - dr. dodds liver cleansing diet is the best of all

my dex was 2 years old when he got severe pancreatitis and he had to have a plasma transfusion and he was hospitalized 4 times that year - he now has ibd or they think he had it and it caused the pancreatitis not sure. It was horrible there is a pancreatitis and ibd group on yahoo groups which has good info too - dexter is now on purina ha since all this - what is dinkey on? I do think that she should be checked but after thousands of dollars the only true test for pancreatitis is cpli and tli as the lipase and amylase testing is not accurate and never was when dexter had pancreatitis - the ultrasound is hard to tell unless it is real swollen but $400 for ultrasound when the cpli and tli will tell you if it is pancreatitis for a lot less. It was a horrible year for dexter but now 8 mos no vommitting - woo hoo - so yes i have two yorkies dexter and dd and dexter has ibd and pancreatitis and dd has mvd, luxating patella mild and severe allergies - yep we have a fun house hold --- my rescue demi a maltese is doing well - after 14k in vet bills and specialist bills we now have learned a lot and completed about 2 years in veterinary medicine hope i can pass on to help you and others out to save time and money
