| Hmmm...I'm not sure about the 4-7 year flood...I can tell you it's not a 4 year one. At least, not since we've moved here. And if we get thru this year without one, it will be over 7 years too. There ARE washes here that they have built and are redoing for when the flash floods DO happen....I saw some water when we first moved here (of course, that's when EVERYONE we knew came to visit sunny Palm Springs ) , but since then, virtually nothing....I guess last week somewhere within a few miles of us there was a small flash flood where we heard on the news that there was a downpour (we had seriously, about 39 drops of water sprinkle us, and I know that b/c Max and I ran out to stand in it) but it's been pretty dismal here. I am definitely ready for a change...it's amazing the damage the heat, sun and wind do to everything you own here. I really worry about the little creatures (and the bigger ones too) out in the desert....it makes life even harder for them. Besides, flash floods are nothing compared to what we had in Napa....full on floods....I say, bring it on we need H2O!

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Ha - we voted sometimes cause Izzy is a crazy nut no matter what - but when her little princess foot steps outside even if the deck is wet - she wants to bolt right back in. But - I'm toughening her up and now she will go out on the deck, down the steps, into the drive and maybe on to the wet grass. Just wait until our first snow - we'll see how that one goes.
