| ![]() I use a puppy shampoo on Cody but I don't have a conditioner for him so his hair gets really static sometimes. I've noticed that some people have posted pics some beautiful coats that use human shampoos and conditioners. So what's the verdict? How many people use them despite the idea that it is bad for their skin? |

| ![]() I've always used shampoo, conditioner, and detangler for dogs on Max and Abbie but I tried pantene last week when I was out of town visiting my parents because I didn't bring their shampoo, and their coats were so soft and silky. In fact, they still are! I really liked the results from the pantene but will it dry their skin and/or hair with use over time? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE their shea butter shampoo and conditioner but I have to order it online--I can just pick up pantene at walmart ![]()

| ![]() So sorry, I don't share my secrets on products that I use. But, they are some of the best and used in salons. The type I use, not the brand, varies from dog and coat texture. Some having coats that are a little finer, or a bit more coarser, drier, etc. I bathe my show dogs every 4 days.

| ![]() I used to spend a fortune trying out different brands and formulas! I personally use Pantene brand products for myself but I have never tried it on them, I don't feel comfortable experimenting. So far the best has been "Straight Arrow, Mane & Tail", it's made for Horses? I buy it @ Walmart, a huge 32 oz. bottle is only $5.86 for the Shampoo & Conditioner a piece. Which helps when your bathing 3 dogs, twice a week since we live next door to the Dog Park, which is pretty stinkey and gross. It's the only product that makes their hair silky and tangle free, they are never matted regardless of how many times I happen to brush their hair or not? Plus all 3 have different types of coats and hair lengths and it seems to work great regardless. Can you tell I love the stuff? |

| ![]() I am an retired cosmetologist. I am sure you have heard the old sayings about PH. There is a difference between dogs and humans. eventually there will be some kind of effect using human products. For this reason I have never used human products on my babies. My husband has (jokingly, I think) complained about the price of there shampoo and conditioners but there are others out there that are pretty good for them, such as the mane and tail at walmart. (which would be even cheaper than human products).

| ![]() I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo on both of my dogs heads, because if it gets in their eyes it doesn't hurt them. On their bodies though, I use dog shampoo for long haired dogs. |

| ![]() We had two yorkies with flea and skin allergies. Our vet recommended using only Baby Shampoo due to this. As long as we stayed with the baby shampoo we had no problems. One would be so itchy, she lost most of her hair if any dog shampoo was used on her or any other shampoo for that matter. We use Mane & Tail conditioner. |
