| Has Your Yokie Been to Basic Obedience Training? I was wondering how many of you actually went to obedience classes. Do you think it's necessary? Do you think it helped? What was your experiance? Good / Bad?

| All my furkids went to the Petsmart classes. For the price, i'm glad I done it. My babies were explosed to different kind of people from an early age. Now they're all very socialized. I have no complaints! |

| Conner is socialized. He loves other people and other animals. He never saw a moving thing he did not want to play with. As for commands, he will do them as long as he sees the treat. If he does not see the treat, he just looks at me like he is saying, "get the treat and I'll do the trick!!" He is a real spitfire with too much personality.

| Besides the socializing, how well did they learn the basic commands (especially the stay)?

| Layla really got the stay down.. and "wait" which is stay.. but only until i.e. i go out the door first.. she does that one so well... and nothing was more important than the come... that can save her life someday and that alone was worth the money... we also like "go to bed" which means go stay on your bed until i say... layla goes to work with my parents and that is a very important command.. as is "feet off" |

| They learned it. After the class ended, I continued to teach them stay until they learned what it meant. I continued and practiced every command with them even when we weren't in class. |

| Winston was a puppy class drop-out...He was definitely overwhelmed by all the other dogs, and he was so small, he just couldn't keep up. I think the class I took him to at our local YMCA was really made for the bigger dogs. We didn't do well in class, but I taught him all the commands myself at home. He needed the one on one communication, and he learned quickly. I do wish he could have finished, the socialization would have been good for him.

| Dior not to long ago completed her basic training. She is pretty good with her commands with or without treats and is very playful when she sees people and other dogs..real big dogs . We are waiting for her brother to finish puppy sch so they can go to intermediate together

| Private trainer Toto was trained by a private trainer who came to our home. It was the most valuable thing we ever did for her. More importantly, he trained US!!! We found that most all the problems were ours, not hers!

| The training has gone very well, everything but the barking at home. But I understand he is a dog and he only barks at home when I'm alone ( He is a LITTLE over protective of me) I can honestly say he is a great dog. My boss even lets me bring him to work with me once or twice a week. He is so well behaved the patient have to ask me if I brought him or not, because he is so quiet.

| I am so glad I took Truffles! She did great and it's something I didn't do with Vixxen and I sure wish I had! It makes a big difference and looks so impressive to see a tiny doggie sit on command!!

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I have worked with Lillie since she was a puppy and she is a great yorkie! Baby on the other hand has come to me broken and I would be interested in getting a trainer, but right now I have been working with her. |
