| ![]() Oh I thought I'd also add that every time I've gone back and repeated classes - ie first with Dougal then with Dixie - I've learnt something new. (OR in the case of the beginners 1 agility class FOUR times with Dougal!) Training methods are always moving on. They are always developing new methods for training the same old tricks. Even with only 18 months between Dougal and Dixie I learnt SO much. For example learning about clicker training was just fabulous - I wish I'd known about it before I started training Dougal. If you find a trainer that clicks - I say go for it!

same here . . With Tiger he was able to retain everything because he had my full attention and I did follow through. With Annika I was too distracted with the gofetch business that I did not have time to follow through when we get home ![]() ![]() ![]() | |

| ![]() Yes Buddy went at 5mos. It was ok, did'nt like the instructor, he was more into the big dogs. I wanted to do everything right with Buddy. I socialized him everyway I could. Today he thanks me for it by going after every dog he does not know and it is driving me up the wall! I am thinking of getting a trainer but not sure of how much that will cost. I tried treats, cheese, chicken pieces scolding etc. Sometimes he's ok but then the terrior kicks in and he's ready for battle. It's this a Yorkie thing? Will it stop? He really is a good little guy and very smart. If you could see him when he's in this mode you would think he was a wild dog ![]() |

| ![]() Carol...That's so funny, I got this vision of this tiny Yorkie taking on all the big dogs of the world!!! But seriously, Winston ONLY wants to get the big dogs when he's in his own yard, territorial or maybe protective, I'm not sure which. But when we're out walking or anywhere else, he TOTALLY ignores them, he'll actually walk around them, which I also find hilarious, but strange...
