Both of my boys came from show breeders here in the NY area. Baxter's breeder has been breeding yorkies for 30 years, and Snicker's for 25 years. I really believe it pays to do research and take your time when choosing a breeder. |
Cozy was orginally from a backyard breeder of sorts the woman only had two yorkies and breed once a year. Cozy was orginally someone else's but the woman was then dx. with Cancer and had to give her up. She was only 16 weeks when I got her though. I love her to death. |
We purchased Maxi from a pet store. We had no idea at the time about Puppy Mills, etc. We have been extremely blessed with Maxi. He is wonderful. However, we are looking at reputable home breeder - many who have been referred to us by members on YT. Now that I know better, I would never again buy from a petstore. |
My baby was almost 6 months old when I got her. The women breed s**t zu and just got a Maltese. Her husband said she had been through over 200 dogs and never keeps any of them. Another person was going to take Jinny and he wanted me to have her so he talked them out of it so I could have her. |
I got mine from a very reputable breeder here in Ohio. I spent a lot of time at her home where all her's live inside with her and her husband. I would send anyone her way. |
Roxy came from an in home breeder - her 3rd or 4th litter. Beautiful home, nice people, free roaming, lots of toys and interaction with people, very socialized. We picked her up the day she got her 1st set of shots, at 6 weeks, and 2 days later traveled 700 miles with her, 2 cats, 2 birds, and 2 truckloads of belongings, and she is healthy as a horse. We couldn't be happier. |
We purchased our Rocky and Woody from a breeder of Yorkies in Arkansas. We had the opportunity to visit the home of the breeder and they showed us everything. We were quite impressed with all the yorkies there and how they were cared for. They are AKC registered. We saw the dogs Mother and Father on the premises. I had to go by asking questions of the breeder and looking at the premises. I for the most part, am very happy with my Yorkies. We have had problems with agression between them, but that would happen no matter where they were bred. Woody has allergies and has been placed on Diet prescription, he also has the problem of over grooming himself, as the Vet calls it. I think it is a nervous condition from being intimidated by his brother, which we try and stop...... :animal36 Yorkies are just like children with fur:animal36 |
Wow, 84% of us got our babies from reputable home breeders. To clarify my vote, Sugar and Spike came from reputable breeders but Gracie came from a backyard breeder before I knew any better. |
lexi came from a pet store,, i didnt know any better... i kept going back to this pet store everyweekend to check it out and see how clean they were and how they kept the puppies and i finally got lexi.... thank god shes ok... i know better now thanks to yt |
I'm proud to say Zoe came from a reputable at home breeder locally. Because of that, she has an amazing temperment. |
We found an ad for Rocky in the classifieds, his previous owner had to give him up to do a divorce and moving into an apartment. |
I got my boy from a show breeder. I love him and could get addicted to owning several more!!! |

I'm getting my pup on March 30th from a show breeder. She is so good with her dogs. I though she would get annoyed with all the questions I had, but she actually asked me more questions than I asked her! |
