| I posted in your other thread too Simon was 10months when Hallie came to live with us and she was 2.5yrs. It was interesting, exciting, fun, demanding, tough, exhausting, and a struggle but I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!!! |

| Cooper was 10 months old when we got Carley who was 6 months old. Cooper was fully potty trained, I think that helped tremendously. They both got along really well together immediately. It felt like a lot more work for about a week, and then not at all after that first week. I would do it again in minute, Carley has been great for Cooper. He even went from a super picky eater to a good eater. I will always have two from now on.

| We had Jo for 6 or 7 months when we got Riley...they are 6 months apart and they get along perfectly. House training wasn't an issue for 2 boys, no one marks, they don't fight...they're best buds! |

| Newman was seven years old when we got Bella at five weeks old. He was jealous, but not aggressive. He did growl at her when she showed no manners by strolling over to his dish when he was eating. Never made a mark on her, just scared the crap out of her and let her know that it's not polite to pop your nose into a guy's dish when he's eating. After that all was good. Then Newman's health started failing (collapsed trachea and bad hips) so we got Noel when Bella was about a year old. We felt that this way if anything should happen to Newman Bella would have a companion. Everything worked great. Really no adjustment. Newman was now used to having someone else in the house and he liked the attention he got from the girls. And, Bella loved to mother Noel who prior to coming to us had been abused and was very timid. Bella showed her the ropes. Lastly, we just got Tia she came to us at eight months old. She's a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie). She joined out family with Newman now being ten years old, Bella being three years old and Noel being two years old. They all adjusted as if Tia had been here forever. No break in period at all. I think Bella who is alpha growled at tia once, when Tia tried to test her by not being so polite and trying to steal her bone. Bella would gladly give it to her, but on her terms and just wanted to astablish pecking order which is Bella alpha, then Tia, then Noel and poor Newman is the wimp. LOL. Happy Holidays. Elaine |

| We had a male (11 months), got a male pup. (12 weeks). The first week or so was challenging until Snickers accepted the new pup, but in time they became best friends. Now they're both potty trained and are happy little brothers.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Woohoo, I'm the only one who had a male and got a male adult. Initially, it didn't work out very well. Eddie was 2 when we got 10-year-old Jack, and Eddie had some serious jealously and hoarding problems. Plus Jack is 4 pounds and couldn't roughhouse with 9-pound Eddie, and I had to break up some pretty vicious beatings delivered by Eddie. But nearly a year later, they are getting along much, much better. Not best friends like a Chanel & Cheri or anything, but definitely good step-brothers.

| Ginger was six months when I got Andy (Coriander) at 7 months. I have had two for three weeks. There are still some challenges. Ginger is "cherished" and twice Andy's size, and often takes things away from Andy, we are working on the whole you must share thing. But Gin is much less needy now. They play constantly. If the weather is anywhere near decent they will spend hours outside being dogs. Digging in my flower beds, chasing squirrels, chasing each other. But they still come in and give mom attention occassionally.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Had a male, got a female adult. It worked out wonderfully. Tucker and Maddie are very protective over each other, whenever I take them on walks they're glued together, and they play all the time.

| Got Kensington (male) at 12 wks then got Paddington (female) at 12 wks three weeks after and they LOVED each other so much...no personality conflicts at all. Now five years later they've had a litter of puppies (1 boy & 2 girls) who are 9 months. Quite the hand full but working out very well - we adore them all!

| Starsky was 17 months when we brought Shylah home at 9 weeks. Starsky was so mad at me and ignored me for about 2 weeks even though I tried to give him lots of attention. Now they are doing great together and I get lots of loves and kisses from both of them. Shylah is 9 months now and Starsky is 23 months.

| I had a chance to rescue Gage when he was almost 7 months old. I already had Gabby, who was 8 years old when we rescued Gage. The choice was already made for me since Gage was a male. I had always said I'd never own a male but I have certainly lost my heart to Gage. Although I love my Gabby Girl to pieces and would lay my life on the line to save hers, Gage is special. No puppy should have to go through what he endured those months before we got him. My suspicions were confirmed over Christmas holidays that he was in fact beaten, thrown across the room SEVERAL times, and kicked - I've had him for almost 2 years and suspected he'd been abused but did not know the extent until this past week-end. It just makes me angrier to have my worst fears confirmed But I can tell you Gage has known nothing but unconditional love since April 2005 - and he is spoiled ROTTEN Sorry to ramble on about Gage!!
