I had a chance to rescue Gage when he was almost 7 months old. I already had Gabby, who was 8 years old when we rescued Gage. The choice was already made for me since Gage was a male. I had always said I'd never own a male but I have certainly lost my heart to Gage. Although I love my Gabby Girl to pieces and would lay my life on the line to save hers, Gage is special. No puppy should have to go through what he endured those months before we got him. My suspicions were confirmed over Christmas holidays that he was in fact beaten, thrown across the room SEVERAL times, and kicked - I've had him for almost 2 years and suspected he'd been abused but did not know the extent until this past week-end. It just makes me angrier to have my worst fears confirmed
But I can tell you Gage has known nothing but unconditional love since April 2005 - and he is spoiled ROTTEN
