Hahahaha, YUP! Why spend $300 at the vet when I avoid it and instead buy him a new bag! I'm not too overprotective of Rocky, but I am cautious with him. It's no fun to be overprotected! I was so glad my parents weren't overprotective of me, so I'm not going to be that way with Rocky. He's gotta live a little!

| I am very protective of Maggie, when she was 12 weeks she choked on a treat and stopped breathing, went unresponsive and I did rescue breathing. I ended up sticking my finger down her throat, she came back to me, but now I panic whenever I think she may get something and choke again. |

| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, I've crossed the line to overprotective. I think I realized it last weekend when we went camping with a friend who breeds chesapeake bay retrievers, you know, working dogs. You should have seen her reaction when I unfolded the Xpen to keep them from wandering off, then hopped in to keep them company. Of course, then I put on their Woolrich parkas, and yes, at night jammies for the tent. When neither one would eat, I pulled out the Nutri-Cal so they'd have some calories to fend off the cold. When they got tired of walking, I picked them up. But is that overprotective -- or adequately protective? Hmm..

| I said somewhat. Because I totally let my guys run and play, and eat poop, oh yeah and roll in dead sheep! (Well I didn't let Dougal do that - I was actually pretty annoyed about it that cos he STUNK!) But they have coats for when it's cold - well Dixie has a whole wardrobe but that's more spoilt than protected! I try to keep them on the ground around other dogs but I always watch what they're up to. (I think the big dogs are in more danger from my two actually - Dougal really loves a challenge!) My vet however must think I'm a complete worry wart! When Dixie went in for her annual jabs I was asking question after question - but she put my mind at ease. Dixie is a picture of health!

| Im pretty sure most of the people I know think Im nuts, but Ill admit it Im obsessed with my dog. I still let him run around and have fun but I get nervous when a stranger wants to hold him (he gets extra wiggly) or if someone wants to give him a treat but its huge (he tends to try and swallow treats whole sometimes ). I dont have any skin kids so Pete is definatly my one and only child, I just want him around forever . |

| this is all interesting to know because my family says they are starting to worry about me. LOL . I think my grown children are jealous. they were never treated this good. I will admitt to that. being spoiled and over protective are 2 different things. but ......I have to admitt mine are both.

| I'm sure our friends think I'm a little nuts when it comes to my yorkies. (Do I care? Hell NO!). But I'm very careful with them, and I admit I'm overprotective at times. I make no excuses. It's all done out of pure love.

| I would have to agree that I am overprotective too. I get so offended when people don’t treat her as I think they should. I’ve almost gotten in fights over it ...

| I am just always worried that someone is going to step on Sophie. It is a paranoia I think. Either that, or I have just read too many horror stories. I also now will not let her jump off the couch even though it is only 1 1/2 foot drop LOL |
