| Neutering [for less than 3-4lbs] since siri has started lifting his leg and marking outside and his thingies have dropped, im kinda at my wit's end with the whole neutering decision- i really want to have it done, but im soooo freakin scared somethinig will happen. i was wondering if anyone has neutered their smaller size yorkie sucessfully and if you would mind sharing you experience with me and other owners in the same boat to ease our fears??? id really appreciate it :]

| We waited for Bugaboo to be a year old before we neutered him. He weighed 2 lbs. Everything went well!

| Mac was 1 years old when he was neutered and weighed just over 2 lbs. Since one of his testicles did not drop they had to do a more invasive surgery. Mac and Mellie we done at the same time had to stay over night. My vet specialized in small breeds. They stayed in the same cage and both had internal sutures. When they came home the next day, they took it easy but other than that everything was just fine. Needless to say I was a nervous wreck. It was actually the first time I posted on YT and have been here ever since

| My Bailey weighed just over 2.5 lbs when he was neutered at 8 months of age. We tried to get him to put weight on, but he wasn't having it. Because we didn't think he could gain up to the desirable 4 to 5 lbs, we decided not to wait any more and go ahead with the surgery. My vet was confident and I was confident in him. Of course I worried, but that's where a little prayer and faith go a LONG way. My vet used the laser so that he didn't lose as much blood and his pain was minimized. Like you're experiencing, Bailey had learned how to hike and had descended already so we were really just waiting for more weight. He had an incision about an inch long and internal stitches, but was closed with glue on the outside. He stayed overnight at the vet and I picked him up the next morning. I did go by and check on him and was able to see him the afternoon of the surgery, and found him to be in excellent condition. After a few licks on the face and a few kisses on the head, I left him behind. He was to be quiet over the next week or so due to the minimal swelling and internal stitches but other than that, you'd have never known he'd had surgery. He was the same old Bailey the next day. Ask about the type of anesthesia. Make sure they're using the right stuff for these really little guys. Other than that, I'd say, if you trust your vet, you can't go wrong unless it's something that you can't control anyway.

| thanks guys, i def feel alot better about the whole process, i do think im going to wait a month or two to see if i can get him fattened up. i would just feel a little more comfortable if he was over 2 lbs. Also, smoeone mentioned about the type of anesthesia- is there a certain kind that is unacceptable for the little guys?? thanks again<3 yall are the best :]
