I dont know the name of the unacceptable types offhand, but you want Isoflurane (sp?). You may also want to have him hooked up to an IV during the surgery as well. Oscar was just neutered last thursday - he's 7 mths and weighs 2lbs 9oz. He was also a cryptorchid (one testicle didn't drop and was hiding in his abdomen) so the surgery was little more difficult. I was terrified too, but he's recovering really well. Your baby will be fine! Dont be afraid to ask a ton of questions of your vet and do a search on here - you'll find other posts about the do's and dont's for neuters/spays.
