I don't think you would abide by the law if your dogs were on the verge of death from the rabies vaccine. I doubt you'd put yourself and them through it again.

There are no waivers in Cook County or in the State of Illinois for the rabies shot. If you get caught without a tag, you get fined harshly. I'll take my chances with the Five-0. It seems that since this is the murder capitol of the country, they have better things to deal with than my non-rabies-vaccinated eight pound dog.

I'm thinking the same thing.....it is a misdemeanor...no different from a traffic ticket.

It's a "bad" law and I feel it is my "civic duty" protest it in the name of innocent pets everywhere.

Understandably, it's not a major offense, but after so many traffic tickets, you get your license taken away from you...same would apply to your dog...

Like I said before....I am not in violation of the law because I have a legal waiver...I was just trying to assist others who have dogs who would die if given another vaccine.

I have to agree w/ Carter's mom on this one...but where I am, my dog has a greater chance of an animal attack than she does dying by vaccine. Again, sorry, you'll have to carry on your crusade without me!

I respect your right not to answer but am disappointed that the YT member gets no sympathy or advice or help with a solution to her dilemna from either or your responses...it is more like criticism?.

This is a REAL situation with a REAL Yorkie Talk yorkie. What advice do you give Kristy? What would you do if Stewie were your dog?

I think kristy is doing the responsible thing as a pet owner and as Stewie's Mom. I don't think she is not a law abiding citizen in this instance and I don't think she is hurting anyone or putting the human population at risk.

I think the one rabies vaccine that Stewie had should last him his entire life as that's what recent studies show. I don't think she has any choice but to take the risk (what little one there is) that he may get "caught" without up to date rabies or that he may somehow encounter a rabid animal.

What do you not understand about my statement Kim? Is it not in plain enough English to understand? I choose to give my dogs the rabies vaccine because of where I live. Draw your own conclusions from that statement.
