Does the way someone thinks about dogs chance the way you see them?

We had a very odd experience this week. We are on vacation in Florida and my DIL's mom came the first few days to spend time with her daughter. She is not a dog person. Barney loves all people. I take a different view of this, especially when I am a guest in some-one else's home and that includes family, my dogs are disciplined if necessary to be on their best behaviour, most especially if I know there are non dog ppl who either live there or are visiting.

They and that includes RAzzle are not allowed to jump up on any-one, if RAzzle won't obey consistently to cease and desist unwanted behaviour, he is first leashed to me, or crated or put in a play pen.

As a guest in anothers' home, that has allowed me to bring my dogs, I am most especially vigilant about my dogs, that they do not get in the way, and are good canine citizens.

I do believe that small dog owners should not permit behaviour one would not allow in a 150 lb dog.

I used to do a beach trip with my best friend and her two sisters every year. In April, one of her sisters got an attitude about Buster and Maggie, then my friend got one. We have hardly spoke since April...she and I have been friends for over 20 years, but I got the feeling she did not like the amount of time I spent with Buster and Maggie. I feel like we can eventually mend the friendship but I will always put Buster and Maggie first...I backed out of the trip this year.

Not too long ago I dated a man who I thought I could maybe like........blechhhhh....he took me to his dad's house to check on the house (father passed away a couple years ago)....the stench in the house was that awful old people smell when they aren't properly cared for....and in comes a very old beagle...blind and slow...I'm like wth? He tells me the dog stays by himself and he feeds him in the morn and eve and walks him around the yard both times.....why not take him home with you? "No way I don't want no old pukey dog in my house"....really...hmmmmmm BUH BYE.........

p.s. the dog was removed 4 days later...eh hem....
