We were using bottled water for the girls there for a while..I figured if I don't drink the water out of the tap then why should they..but lately I have been really lazy and haven't bought them anymore to put in the frig. so they are back to tap water for now...but they do love bottled water!!

I actually had my vet tell me to never let them drink tap water. There have been studies done on how quickly tap water can kill a hamster and I know yorkies are bigger but it can't be good for them either. My vet insists on filtered or bottled water only! Luckily we have both in my house.

The thing is, when we lived in Tennessee, I poured water from our Brita filter into Sully's bowl.

But, here in Charleston, our water filtration process is the same as most bottled water companies - double osmosis. So, really the water we bathe in is the same as most bottled water.......so now of course Sully drinks out of the tap, and so do we. No more need for the old Brita filter these days!

In defense of the bottled water-serving folks out there, I wouldn't serve Sully any less than I would drink myself. So, if I drink tap water, so does he, and if I drink filtered, so would he.

We use filtered tap except for when we're away from home-then it's bottled. Now they have the 'vita-waters' for dogs. While I love them for myself, I've nerver bought them for the dogs. One of my Shelties is a camel, so I'd have to take out a second mortgage just to keep him in 'doggie vita-waters'!

Nerds are cool (or so I've heard)...

Yoda gets filtered water from the fridge tap, just like what we drink. If we're out or at someone else's house, he'll get bottled water. Our tap water here in Seattle sucks, I'm a water connoisseur.

Well since my option wasn't on the poll, I wanted to tell you I use the filtered water from my Brita pitcher.

That kinda counts as bottled water...

My husband works for a water plant, and any time I buy bottled water he "freaks", most bottled water is just tap water & "most" municipalities have more stringent regulations on the water they produce than the bottled water companies. The plant he works at tests their water every hour, which is far more often than the bottled water places.
At our home we have Brita pitchers, so we filter our tap water & thats what we all drink.

That's good to know. We supposedly have great water here, but I wonder about what happens to it in the pipes on the way to the house. Sounds like you have a good solution.
