Bottled water? OK, I may have slipped into the dark side of Yorkie-nerddom, but tonight when I was refilling his gallon, self-filling water bowl I thought, hmmmm. Why not use bottled water? If we think tap water isn't good enough for us, why would it be good enough for an 8-pound Yorkie? Besides, how much can a Yorkie drink anyway? Here's a poll to see if I'm the only loon out there. |
Your not a nerd! I would never think of giving Teddy the gross water that comes out of the tap for the exact reason if it isn't good enough for me then it isn't good enough for him either. It also makes traveling easier as I can always pack his bottled water so he never has a change that could affect his health. |
We have good Lake Michigan water. I drink it. Stewie drinks it. |
I have a reverse osmosis system in my house(it makes tap water just like bottled water). I give that to my animals. They love it!!! |
Our tap water ain't bad, but I was raised on well water so I can't stand that chlorine taste so we use a brita filter and that's what we give Logan too. So not quite bottle water, but he gets what we get. |
Your not a nerd. We have always given Sophie bottled water. |
He gets tap! Durham water is just fine. If we go to the lake or to the park he will get bottled, but for the mean time, we are both fine with tap! :) |
I voted for tap water, but we filter our tap water with a really good filter. :grin2: :grin2: |
Right on the Money 1 Attachment(s) Oh,i sooooooooooo agree! The tap water is full of bleach. A cancer causing agent that creates a massive amout of free radicals in the body which are like little bombs that go search out our healthy cells and kill them, regenerating mutated killer cells that in turn cause illness and death. I studied some on chemicals and we are ingesting highly poisonious additives daily and don't even realize it. At the top of the risk list> BLEACH TREATED TAP WATER. It was a eye opening read, and somewhat bitter sweet really. Things I enjoyed the most were very dangerous and i never knew. Pools, sauna's, hot tubs, and water parks not to mention getting a drink out of my kitchen. These are some of the highest Bleach treated risks for our bodies. Alaskayorkie i would say your thoughts are RIGHT ON THE MONEY |
Forgot to add... Yes, AlaskaYorkie, you are a nerd, but not because you give Eddie bottled water. |

Alaska Yorkie, I don't think you are a nerd. I think if your tap water is going to give your dog health issues, by all means go with an alternative. However, lol, did you ever catch YOUR dog drinking from a mud puddle? Or the toilet? (though Yorkies wouldn't usually, lol) You have, however, made me think twice about giving Wosie tap. She'll get filtered, just like us from now on! |
Actually, I'd like to point out that most major metropolitan cities in the US (Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc.) have a bit of fluoride in the water, which helps keep your teeth clean. This is in contrast to water in parts of Europe and other asian countries and you can easily see the difference in their teeth. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=521352 The standards for safety are stricter on tap water than bottled water. |
Just a thought Before you eat or drink Chlorine or Floride again consider reading the books> The Aging Factor and Don't Drink The Water. Then see what your thoughts may be. Floride is not a non toxic additive. Look it up, see what lobbiest and corperations are behind paying of the FDA to get it put in our tooth paste and our drinking water. Big money to be made by the pharmaceutical companies, Politations, corporate investors of public traded stocks who profit from the drugs that are needed to treat the effects of what these 2 chemicals do to Americans. There is no Money in a Healthy its just that simple. |
Gus only gets bottled water. And if you try and give him tap he does know the difference. The only time he will drink tap is when we are else were and he is being really active. But I usually have his bag with me where ever I go. He has a bottle of water, food, nutri cal, treats, a swearter and pee pad. We havent used pee pads in quite a while but you never know,,,,, it just may come in handy and with my luck the moment I take it is when I will be needing it. |
Mine both get bottled water and they have forever! You are a nerd ;) |
