| Does Your Yorkies Eyes Water (Tear) When You Take Them Out On The Town With You? I don't know if this is common in the Yorkies Breed or not, so I thought I would ask it in a Poll. Does Your Yorkies Eyes Water (Tears) When You Take Them Out On The Town With You? I'm having problems with Lola's eye's watering "Every Time" I take her somewhere with me. I was once told that Yorkies eyes tend to water when their under stress. I'm not sure if this is correct, so I thought I would see how many other Yorkies have this problem. Now my Lola also has Allergies and takes Medication for it 3 times a day. So it's hard for me to know if this is happening because of her Allergies or because she's feeling stressed out. Thank You For Taking This Poll Lola Appreciates It!

| I voted yes, but it only happens sometimes. Snickers has allergies in the Spring, so when things are starting to bloom his eyes will water. Otherwise, they don't.

| Emma's Eyes don't really tear when I take her out of town, but she is expecting July 4 and I have noticed that her eyes have watered alot more since she became pregnant so maybe it is the stress. |

Yorkie Yakker | all the time.. My little Maxs' eyes are always teary, except when he is sleepy. He's been like this since I got him. Is that normal? I heard that it happens to most small breeds..

| I'm a new Yorkie mama, and am relieved to know that tearing isn't unheard of. Kimbo's eyes do tear when he's sleepy. |

| A Inherited Trait? I currently have 3 Yorkies, I think Eye Tearing is an Inherited Trait? Artie my only male "Tears" all the time, Abigail does Not......but their daughter Pom Pom does. The other 2 puppies they had (now 3 yrs. old) do NOT Tear-up at all. I make sure I wash their Eyes out every morning w/a warm wash cloth and I am constantly checking their eyes for dirt and hair that might get caught in their eyes b/c I know they are very sensitive.

| Yes, if the wind is blowing. We have cotton wood trees here, when she goes outside for a walk her eye's will tear.

| I voted No to "watering" although, each of my Yorkies do the normal tearing accompanied with the lovely goobers. I started using "Eye Envy" and have noticed less tearing & those gagging boogers, too. I'm not a picker...poor gag reflex!

| I have 3 Yorkies and each came from different homes and cites. My oldest Furgie rarely ever teared. My little male tears occasionally. My baby girl tears about every day. If it is stress than that is why Bastian teared tonight cause he hates us being gone. I did not know it was stress related. Sophie seems to get stressed easily and sorta stays that way mostly...so that would account then for her daily tearing. I thought it was allergies.

| Apple Cider Vinegar Hi All Just wanted to share a little secret with you . Did you know if you add a little organic apple cider vinegar to your dogs water bowl every day you can clear up those tears. Start with small amts, about 5 drops and increase about every 3 or 4 days. 1/2 to 1 teaspoon to 15 lbs of body weight. Or to bowel tolerance. Last edited by lillymae; 07-12-2009 at 12:48 AM. |
