Reason I posted this is because I am looking to. With dentals etc. I am definitely weighing the benefits...but after researching all the plans and companies I'm just confused with all the choices!!

24PetWatch...I had just applied a couple days before my Bella was diagnosed with Collapsed Trachea...so, that'll be considered pre-existing since it occurred during the 30 day waiting period...ugh!

However, the best thing is that they DO cover "Heriditary Illnesses" IF your pet has NOT had a pre-existing diagnosis. Plus, when your policy is up for renewal...they don't consider the last year illnesses as a pre-existing diagnosis like some other plans will.

If I had to offer one word of advice for people looking at insurance plans, it is to read their conditions very, very closely. Pet insurance is very different from human health insurance. They CAN ignore pre-existing conditions, and they CAN refuse to cover congenital issues.

I decided to go with Trupanion primarily because they will cover congenital conditions. Penny has a brother who has a liver shunt, and while I have never seen any sign of similar problems in her, I flat out rejected all of the plans that would not cover congenital problems if one were to surface.

I have VPI for my two puppies. Have sent in claims and they pay according to the contract.

i dont but i am really thinking of getting it, especially cause i want another yorkie, so with 3 im sure i need it. Lately all these bills have been getting me stressed..can ppl that have it please explain what you like or dislike about it?

Trupanion for my puppy Zachary. The other 5 are not insured. Once I found out how many potential health issues Yorkies had, I decided to get insurance for him.
