YT Addict | yorkie or not I am sure it is a yorkie, just not one of the small ones everyone has grown to love. It goes back to you get what you pay for. But My biggest yorkie female is katie and she is 7lbs and I love her so much, she is a big lover. Kisses every day. I am sure they will love her no matter what. I am sure she will be a bigger yorkie that is for sure. |

| He is adorable and certainly looks to be Yorkie - it's hard to tell from just one picture. At 12 weeks his ears should be trimmed and standing most of the time. Although he's a cutie he really doesn't look like he's breeding stock. Sorry...

luvfla - I think she just wanted an opinion if this looks like a full blooded Yorkie because it doens't look like her daughter's Yorkie & her MIL was thinking about breeding. I don't think it had anything to do with her. She was wanting validation on whether it was a Yorkie or a Mix.

| ? this little baby looks yorkie to me, rather large it looks for the age stated, but yorkie. as everyone said yorkies come in all shape and sizes, nose may look wide because the hair is not trimmed, this can make the nose appear wider... as far as breeding well i have a hard time understanding why people want to breed any animal when they don't seem to know the basics |

| Looks yorkie to me. Just has floppy ears (I love them) and is going to be bigger. If your brother and his wife are happy with him, then be happy for them. As for their intentions of breeding, if their minds are made up, nothing you can say will change them and it will only cause an argument. |

| Hi Jeanie! Long time no see - but it is nice to see ya! Aww I have to disagree on this one. I think people should really start to rethink this breeding issue. I, too, had thought about breeding, when I first bought Mia, because I was in the mind frame that I would just love another one without paying the price I had paid for Mia - which was ALOT. In other words by breeding her I could get one for free. WRONG! Then there was actually the thought that I could even make some money back to offset the costs of breeding - WRONG! Which you know first hand about. Breeding is not a money maker. By coming here and learning the difference between toy breeds and large breeds (which I had always had) and the problems that can happen when breeding this breed - I realized I was no one to be breeding. I also learned about "the standard" and diseases. I learned about puppymill dogs. I learned just how many dogs are in shelters and rescues and what happens to them. And now with the economy the way it is - there's just that many more with no homes. In my opinion, much too much unnecessary breeding has been going on for much too long. I hope this poster reads more about this and decides to talk to her BIL about neutering/spaying this puppy SOON!

| You hit it on the nose. My BIL called his self buying a male in hopes I would want to breed my daughters Yorkie that is from great stock. I figure when his dog hits 10-15lbs and our "Maddy" is projected to hit 6lbs (I purposely chose the biggest girl in the litter) he will realize the difference in breed quality and not bring it up, as I was told by several reputable breeders that breeding below 5lbs can be dangerous. My daughter has a "brittle" bone disease and the wife and I didn't want to fragile babies in our life. Our girl is adorable but unfortunately our pics of her are 2-3mb and the site allows 200kb go figure. |
