I was unable to make the meet up this year due to airfare and fuel prices going way up, and hopefully they go down by next year so I can attend the meetup where ever it is. |

Honestly, I think the "plan" (middle, one coast, next coast) is a pretty good plan  The main reason I can't leave the east coast is that during the summer is my husband busy season and he can't really travel far, but I am looking forward to 'when ever' the east coast meet up will be, b/c we are so there, and like others have said, we will all get turns - YAY - YAY!!! :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork GREAT JOB COMMITTEE  |

Well said  I know we (Layla's Mom, MyFairLacy and I) will be going regardless of location. And we will be driving, as we want to be able to take as many of our babies as we can. :p We will be driving over 20 hours one way if it ends up in San Diego, over 16 hours if in Savannah and over 22 hours if in Alexandria; and those times don't include stops!! We had so much fun in KC and can't wait to meet even more members at the next ones. So we will be there, provided some type of family emergency situation doesn't come up. :D |

Only one pet kennel per ticketed passenger may be accepted for travel in the cabin. The kennel may contain two (2) dogs or two (2) cats but they must be the same species, ages between 8-weeks and 6-months, and weigh less than 20 lbs. Unless I'm reading it incorrectly they are addressing traveling with two pets at the same time. I have flown American frequently with Lucy and they know her age (over a year) as it is on her health certificate. |

Pet Carrier Guidelines The maximum size for cabin pet carriers is 23" long x 13" wide x 9" high. Animals must be able to stand up, turn around and lie down in a natural position in the kennel. Soft-sided pet carriers are accepted as long as they are constructed of water-repellent, padded nylon with mesh ventilation on two or more sides. A pet kennel counts as either a passenger's one carry-on bag or personal item - a cabin pet fee still applies, however. Number of Pets Allowed Only one pet kennel per ticketed passenger may be accepted for travel in the cabin. The kennel may contain two (2) dogs or two (2) cats but they must be the same species, ages between 8-weeks and 6-months, and weigh less than 20 lbs. The maximum number of carry-on kennels allowed (on American Airlines flights accepting them) is seven per flight: two (2) in first class and five (5) in coach and/or business class. However, service animals are not counted in the maximum number allowed in the cabin. On American Eagle and AmericanConnection®, two kennels (at most) are allowed depending on the aircraft - please contact Reservations before your flight. Movement of Pets During Flight Pets may not be removed from their kennel/container at any time while on-board the aircraft. Age/Health Information Dogs and cats must be at least eight (8) weeks old for travel. If two animals are traveling in the same carrier, no older than six months old, they must be the same species and weigh less than 20 lbs. American assumes no liability for the health or well-being of carry-on pets. ok from the wording the way i understand it is if you try to bring 2 pets they have to be the same species and neither can be over 6 months....so one pet in carrier on can be older....it is still a no go for those trying to bring quiet a few yorkies |
I voted for San Diego....2 reasons...No humidity and it is only about an hour away from me. It would be great to go to the east coast, but I most likely won't be able to take off work for more than a few days. |

OK Ladies, I don't what to make anyone mad but this is getting to be ridiculous. There is no way under the sun that the committee can make everyone happy. This voting thing is getting out of hand too (IMO). The committee has graciously given hours and hours of time and money planning a meet up for us. I think since they are putting their time and effort into all this work, they should just pick a spot. If you can come....ok....if you don't like where it's held....don't come. I will bet money that where ever it is held there will be people from that area that don't show up....just like the one this year. We had an awesome time at the KC meet up and it was worth every penny that I spent to get there. |
