| You are too funny! A mac is a "regular computer" too. ![]() We switched to macs about a year ago. My husband is a computer guy and he was sick of windows crashing so he switched, then when my laptop died he made me switch. I love my little macbook. It took me a few weeks to get used to it, because it is very different but it's very straight forward too and very easy to use. I love using the mail program (built in), iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes... I just plug in my digital camera and boom, pics are imported. Plus, it almost never crashes and it can still run XP if needed.

| Oh I would get a laptop! Now that I have one, I have no idea why anyone would want a PC again! Its all there together, quick and portable.... I love having a laptop! And with wireless connection you can take it anywhere in the house or yard and it works with NO cords! aaaahhh the life! Now the only problem I see with a laptop is you need a wireless printer that it networked to the laptop, which is probably slightly more expensive than a regular printer, but its soooo worth it! Good Luck deciding!Oh yeah I have a dell laptop Inspiron 6000 but my next laptop will be an IBM thinkpad tablet. If you can get one of those, do that! I am a PC person through and through!

| Just last month I bought a Dell @ Sams Club and it came with Vista...I am not too happy with Vista, but I guess it is the learning another OS. But I really wish I had XP on this system...hmmm...I might get my son to do that for me. Vista can't remember my settings so I need to install some memory bags on it an maybe then I'll be happy. |

| I own 3 and rented 1 (while we lived in Iowa). Going from the oldest to the newest. The oldest is an AT&T desktop its 10 yrs old. When we got it, we had to have it updated from windows 4.0 to windows 95. We let our nieces and nephews play on it. The rented one was a Compaq destop ran Windows XP The next one is an E machine (Gateway Product). It's 3 yrs old. Runs Windows XP. Got this one after we moved back home from Iowa. The newest one is a Compaq Laptop its only 4 months old. Runs Windows Vista. I don't like Vista, would much rather have XP on my Laptop!

| Connie, I have an HP Pavillion with a 19" flat screen monitor. Guess it's outdated since it's over five years old. Knock on wood, haven't had a bit of trouble with it except when I crashed it when I first got it...didn't even know how operate it. A friend came to the rescue and had to do a total restore and said never click on anything unless I'm sure what it's for. When I get another one I will definitely get another large flat screen monitor...love it!

| I have an IMac now. After years of dying & crashing PC's we thought we'd switch over. My husband hates it. I love it. lol! The learning curve will get over for you fast if you use it daily like I do, then you get used to it.Oh yeah, about the software. You really have to look for it. I was pulling my hair out I couldn't find a simple program that made greeting cards!!! But I finally found one!! YEAH! And it's fantastic. Called "The Print Shop for Mac" by Broderbund. We also bought Word, Powerpoint & Excel For Mac but my husband says the Word just isn't the same, and thats the part he hates. Last edited by MyLadies; 04-26-2008 at 08:58 AM. Reason: info |

| YT 500 Club Member | Our home computer is an Aser with Windows Vista. However, the one I usually use is my little laptop which is an Asus Eee PC. I love it-it is pink and white!

| I have a Dell right now, but I'm saving for a MacBook Pro with a 17 inch screen. I'm a Professional Photographer & I design my own graphics for various projects. Need that big screen!
