I don't even know where I heard that term "juxtapose" because I have never taken a photography class but I think it is a photography term, LOL. My interpretation of juxtapose is basically two or more subjects, side by side, to show comparison or contrast.

It can be large vs. small, same thing different colors, it is also used to show scale, like when you see a penny or quarter next to something to show size.

Ahhh, I was taking it as two things that are not meant to be together and found this website. Seems like a challenge.

Those examples are obviously waaaay outside my skill level, but they sure are fun to look at! So maybe that topic is too much of a challenge. I am willing to try anything. So other than black and white, what are some other subjects? We could do a specific color so it could be anything with a specific color somewhere in the picture, little or a lot.....Just tryin to throw out some ideas to keep this thread alive..... anybody?

Wow, Jeanne gets back into the game with a home run! LOVE those shots! That first shot is a classic, and if she ever becomes a movie star, you'll make a mint selling it to the tabloids. The others both have great expressions. Kids are the best subjects! Well, next to Yorkies

Since I pushed the last theme, I'm going to sit back and let everyone else decide the next theme. I like both ideas, b&w and juxtapose.

I think everyone likes a challenge! I think going with the juxtapose is a great idea! The weather is so gloomy lately I'd like something to stimulate the senses. I think after this one black and white spring to throw a twist into the spring shots could be fun.

I like it and that's in my skill level how about a Spring like color and we can shoot for yellow? Just an idea...maybe I'm biased since I grabbed this one when the rain let up...my Landlady has quite the green thumb, I'm ready to start taking pictures of all her incoming flowers. This one just fully bloomed, I think so anyway

Well, I'm going to take a stab at Juxtapose ... even though I'm not exactly sure what it is all about. I found a few different definitions.

This one has a nice color contrast (if that counts?)

Agreed! Although I think the watermelon shot is cheating! You definitely did some cutting out, but I can't figure out if the dog was really up on the watermelon! Regardless, it's cute!

No, she's really in there (I did previously edit this one because of background light. It was very sunny) Here is another from the same photo shoot (un-retouched)
