I love this thread....

I like the company Sigma & I wanted a bigger zoom since i like taking wildlife photo's. There is no 100% reason why i choose that one It just fit what i needed more than all of the other ones.

Okay..thanks...I was reading about the VR technology and wondered if it was that important. The only con I read about the lens you bought was it was heavy ...does it bother you?

My smaller lens has that. I really don't see a difference The lens is so fast that it takes great pictures.

It really isn't that heavy to me but i guess with some people it can feel that way Most of the time I have the big lens & the add of flash & i can hold it for a long while.

HaHa...I got a picture of you as Wonder Woman with gold cuffs...holding your camera...

This is so wonderful to pick your brain about this stuff.

I did like the extra zoom you got (300 vs 200) but did wonder about the VR.

I need suggestions, guys! I'm clueless....

I've got the Canon Rebel XS. What is the best second lenses to purchase? I've only got the kit lens still which works great, but what's the next level up? I want something that's not so huge but maybe blurs the background a bit more, so I would need wider aperture? Right? lol, this is all so new to me. Suggestions please! I also don't want anything that's going to break the bank lol.

Ok I took 2 pics to show the zoom. I really don't think the zoom is HUGE. I'm sitting at my desk and I took a pic with it at 55...then at 200. I did not move.

Of course using my favorite model as she just sits and poses for the camera!
