It's just frozen pickle juice. We put them in ice cube trays with toothpicks. Yum!!

I can't eat fish roe (too fishy for me) but this lobster roe was so sweet and poppy and delicious and literally there were THOUSANDS of eggs!!

The "fishyness" of fish roe depends on the type of fish. I doubt you've had every kind to deem them too fishy for you! Even bf thinks sometimes lobster can be too fishy. Just a term he used for when he doesn't like something. But fishy isn't the right term.

You would love spot prawn roe then. Same poppyness. Not too far off from tobiko, or masago.

All I know is the ones I've had in/ on sushi are disgusting to me.

Erhm, I came to this thread thinking I could share an unusual dish I tried while in the Keys. You've all trumped my pitiful palate.
I really enjoyed Conch salad; it's raw but the lime juice "cooks" it. DELISH!

Sherry conch salad ( or conch in any form ) is. One of my faves!!

And BTW...... I bet less than 5 of those who posted on this thread have tried conch
