| ![]() I've seen some REALLY strange things at the korean market recently. I don't even know where to start with those. I don't think I'd try unless someone knew about it and showed me how to eat it. Like um, moray eels?! I know of unagi, but morays are huge! Live baby octopus, like still wriggling alive live. I think I would pass on that.

| ![]() I have never had the above bolded. I didn't know Koreans ate monkeys. But not all kimchi is that hot. It really depends on who made it.

| ![]() Indeed. I don't even like putting the lemon, the hot sauce, or anything. I just eat them by themselves; anything else on them is a distraction. I especially love the Hunter's Point oysters whenever I'm on the west coast.

| ![]() Probably the strangest thing I have had that I really liked was geoduck. Just awesome sliced thin and flash boiled. Hog head is pretty awesome too in tamales and pozole, and I love the cow facial meat too (we call it barbacoa in Texas, but out of state barbacoa means something completely different). Strangest thing I absolutely hated was sea urchin. Tastes like a really weird peanut butter with the consistency of baby poop.

| ![]() If you're ever in LA there is a Jewish Deli a couple miles south of West Hollywood called Canter's which has amazing pickles. Open 24/7 too.

But I LOVE sea urchin, that's what I named Uni after! Most people get bad ones that don't taste like peanut butter. It's supposed to taste very nutty and sweet. I wouldn't know if it's like baby poop though, never had that before!

| ![]() Gosh, I am 56 years old and just realized, after reading this thread, what a sheltered life I've lived...but that's ok, cuz I like boring.

| ![]() I haven't had good luck with carnitas. 9 times out of 10 it's bone dry and hard. I've had it a few times that it's soft and tender. I haven't had King Taco in years. I never really was a huge fan. I can't understand a Mexican place that doesn't have limes. Well, they have them, they just don't give you any if you ask. ![]()

| ![]() Has anyone had cabrito (goat meat)? I have only had it once and it was so so good cooked on a grill. Also stingray is good. The stingray's wings are like white meat so you just cut the meat into chunks, coat it and fry it. Very good.
