My DS does P90x ~ it's grueling  He gave me one of the DVD's that he never used.....last Christmas......It's still in my suitcase :hide2:  :hide2: It's such a hard workout a couple of years ago my husband and I did the full 90 days. I lost 20lbs but more importantly I felt amazing and was so proud of myself:) I am going to take some of the work outs and start doing them. I love the kenpo (cardio kickboxing). I am seriously so motivated now!:D |
I am 150 and would like to get to 130-135. From my mid 30's to early 40's was having a lot of problems and gaining weight like crazy. Finally at 41 (6 years ago) had a hysterectomy and havn't gained a pound since. However, I have a terrible problem with retaining water. I can fluctuate 5-7 lbs any given day and feel misrible one day with tight fitting clothes, to needing a belt the next. Dieuretics cramp me up, and I try to drink the RDA water-it's so hard . I've had all the necessary medical tests to make sure nothing else is going on. I've modified my diet to reduce salt intake but now I need to add exercise. I walk, but it's just not enough. Anyone have any good links to some good inner leg/butt exercises??? That's where I carry my excess baggage. :p |
I'm late to the party...but guys, I really need this. I am a LOT overweight...its to the point now that I can tell its affecting my health. I look like a different person...not myself. I am awful at dieting! I need TONS of support to stay on track..like I need a drill sergeant lol! *deep breath* Okay...I'm giving up soda, first off. I've done iit before for a couple months but always give in. Cherry coke is my weakness :( ...(I have a whole case in the fridge right now. Should I pour them down the sink or something?) I need to lose like, 50 pounds at the least. It seems impossible but I guess I can start with 25. I was off today so I slept in accidentally..woke up and I just made a salad with tofu pieces, snapeas and some kale. |
I joined weight watchers! It's a lot of info to look through, but I like the system. Oh, and my little salad I posted above turned out to be 6 points. The app is awesome and I'm going to try really hard to use it every single day. Really hope this thread stays active so I do too. We could also continue on the skinny yorkie mama club and use it to talk and check in and whatnot. I really need people to cheer me on and keep me focused or I'll do something crazy...like eat dessert! :p Eta: Going to buy a scale now...I'm afraid! |

We can help each other I know I will need it! |
Okay...I'm in but late too. I am going to sign up on weight watchers online. I am so fickle when it comes to diet and exercise and I really need to make a commitment. I have done weight watchers before when the points were different. But, I'm ready again starting tomorrow. 15lbs. to my feeling good weight, 20lbs to beach body. Short term goal 1: Lose 5 lbs. by October 1st -30 minutes of cardio 3 days a week, 2 days of strength through yoga class, on demand video or gym workout -No more soda or starbucks-make coffee at home :( -No more fried foods except french fries on cheat day -No more alchohol during the week I love that we can support each other here! :) |
I might as well jump in too. I weigh 188 now, before when I smoked I was 145. So I need to loose 40 some odd pounds . I too want to join WW but not sure how effective that would be. A girl I work with took up zoomba and has been nagging me to go with her. Anyone know anything about it and is it fun to do |
Will be taking a walk this afternoon after I get off work. I just had a Body by Vi shake and will be having a nice salad for lunch. Maybe i'll play some Just Dance on the Wii with the kids after lunch. :D So far i'm down a pound from a couple of days ago. :) |

And I was like  on the no more alcohol...then realized you said during the week. I was like "WHEW!!" ok, weekends are good. ;) hehe |
I found this site BMI Calculator I found that my BMI is 21.03, BMR is 1296.25 and body fat is 25.79%. I fall under "normal" under all except my waist to hip ratio at 0.83 is unhealthy and puts me at moderate risk, for what I don't know! But I am apple shaped all the way. Even though I am only 115 at 5'2" but all my weight is in my belly, always has been since I was a kid. I did go down to about 100 about 8 yrs ago, and looking back at pics I was way too skinny. I would like to lose about 5 lbs, but knowing my body, I will loose it all in my butt, which I have none, and lose none in my waist. :( But anyway, I"m in too. Let's all try to lose weight together. |

I have already given up soda long ago, I hardly ever have more than a few sips a week. Cutting down on processed carbs and no fast food big time. Drinking lots of water. I have been taking the green coffee capsules. It really does help me with suppressing hunger if I get hungry before it's time to eat, and gives me some energy, doesn't make me jittery, but makes me pee a lot!:D |
I just got back from the store. Bought a scale...time to face the numbers. I'm so scared! We also went grocery shopping and im so proud...we got such healthy stuff! I was dying to go down the snack aisle...ugh. I am so ready to stop feeling sick all the time! I have literally felt sluggish and sad and sick every day for months now. I'm ready for a change. |
I heard that when you go to the market, only shop on the outside rows and rear, so only produce, fresh bread, meat and seafood dept. Don't go down the middle aisles where all the snacks, pre packaged and processed foods are. |

I know you said that you had it since being a kid. But hmmm...i'm gonna call it a little "beer belly" you got there. ;) LOL j/k!! (And you are still lighter than me and a whole 4" taller! I got about 10lbs. on you. :( ) Since you drink every night to sleep. I actually like to have a glass of something on most nights too. ;) I prefer Crown Black w/whatever or li hing mui margaritas on the rocks. :D |

I have to make it through my son's football season first. Unless there are exercises I can do in my car! I am on the road constantly with him and football. Friday nights are games which is Sonic night. Lol. But I will say this. My doctor recommended Weight Watchers as a way to get it off and keep it off. I can loose it but it seems to find its way back home. :( |

I have already been horribly bad this week and haven't started my lifestyle change yet. I am starting fresh on Monday. I think I am going to make several of the WW soup recipes. It is getting cooler here and I love soup. |

I was down a pound this morning  Still not trusting that scale..... I either need to get another new scale, weigh myself in Publix on their giant scale  or rely on how my clothing fits. On my list today: Get actual body measurements laps and a brisk walk check out WW online again (was a member years ago) Publix for healthy snacks. Almost blew it last night when I was STARVING and nothing in the house to eat! attending a seminar tonight given by a Dr nutritionist on healthy eating/lifestyle |
I use the old point system as well. I don't really understand the new points as of yet.... Are you in the dreaded menopausal age like I am???? LOL I need to cut out or burn 8000 calories a week to obtain my goal. I think its do able ( that is close to your 500 calories but I need that per day to lose 1 1/2 pounds per week) I plan to walk and swim and jump my way slim!!
Yep,according to my Dr "I have no hormones to call my own". I can look at an OREO and gain 1/2 a pound. I am also in a place where suddenly I dont have the help in the house that I used to and am a bit overwhelmed. I have been avoiding the want to sit and eat 1/2gal of BlueBell lately due to stress. Very sick kid this week and just when I thought that she was getting better we ended up at he ER for 5 hrs last nite. So today I begin again. "no guilt,,just move on and start fresh","one day at a time". Good luck to all today,I will check back in this evening to see how everyone did today. Glad that ya'll are out there! |
How many of you belong to WW or WWonline? I've been thinking about joining. |
I joined yesterday. Spent the night learning all about points and tracking everything I eat. It really does force you to eat right when you write it down. I ate a TON yesterday, or so it felt like, and I still had ten points allowed for the day. For me I think I had no idea how much I was eating. As in my portions were double or even triple what I should have been eating. I feel embarrassed, but at least Iknow what it was doing ti me. I just woke up...gonna have a whole grain waffle with some pb. Then I'm off to zumba class! I have the wii game, but I prefer to have the actual instructor to push me, and the support of a group. the atmosphere is so upbeat, I have no problem keeping up in Zumba even if I am out of shape...must be either the ex-dancer in me, or the latina in me :p |
UGH!!!!! 2.6 pounds heavier than yesterday  & I did so good yesterday too!!!!!!!! I was craving pizza last night for dinner. I resisted and had a morningstar chick patty, an apple, and some green beans. I should have just had the pizza!!!!!:eek::thumbdown:panic::confused: |

Take measurements of your waist and you'll be able to see the difference when you wrap that tape tighter each day. Also dont you LOVE Morningstar?! I was vegan for about four years, and my favorite was the Morningstar ribs...to die for. |

I belong to "myfitnesspal" because it is free. I still have all of my points info from when I went to meetings. I do well when I log everything,it even makes me think twice before indulging, because I know that I will have to write it down. |
I'm loving this thread. I did great last year and lost 25 pounds (from 145-120), but this summer I put back on 5 pounds. I am 5'4" and would love to be around 110. I had great luck by tracking what I eat on sparkpeople.com and exercising. We joined a gym, but I have been horrible at going lately... I like the idea of posting our weights daily. Today I am 125.4. |
