Yep...and found it in the smallest local owned store that normally has no variety in their selections...haha even our Walmart superstore didn't have it..so sad I have to usually go to every store to find most ingredients I need for making a recipe I find online. No one store carries them all..It is very frustrating. And lots of things..forget it...none of them have it.

I found a tealight holder made in Kenya with three ladies sitting (I have three sisters), so I bought that, plus some goat soap..great for your face, and some handmade earings..bought two pairs one purple and the other aqua!
The food....wow...
I had to stick with what i know ..I had the oxtail with rice and peas, fiance had a polish sausage..., he saw traces of green pepper and flatly refused to have any! Claims the green pepper changes the taste, will eat my oxtail no problem though, I guess thats a good thing.
We had to have the roast corn too...no idea what my son had, says he's not eating anything I didn't make, it would spoil it for him cuz he knows it wont taste like mine.
My daughter had some kind of African samosa..says she didn't finish it...too spicey..! How is anything too spicey?!
Ah well it was a great day all around!

The bolded above sounds like a perfect lunch to me

I'm a bit of a spice wimp. Not wimp per say, but If my tastebuds are on fire then I can't enjoy the rest of the spices in the dish

LOL! spice wimp...I love it!
true that though, how can you enjoy it if your're looking for a fire extinguisher!! I do like spicey foods just not fire hot!

I've visited Jamaica once about 25 years ago , and again on a cruise 3 yeears ago. I would like to go back, I have just heard so many stories about safety as of late that I'm pretty apprehensive

I hear you on that one! I stay out of Kingston, it really isnt safe.
My mother owns two homes there...one in Kingston and one in the country..St. Mary. IF I'm going i will either stay in the country or head for the resort, usually Ocho Rios.
Even I'm considered a foreigner! Go figure!

See Lisa? Last time I went was to Ocho Rios and I felt perfectly safe. This was around 2001. Actually it was a month after 9/11.

It was in Ocho Rios that they were swimming out to me in the water to sell me drugs. Also Ocho Rios where I was thrown on the back of a donkey and held for ransom until my xh gave them money to let me off I was NOT pleased
