| Well if you order udon, you get a spoon. But if it's just miso, then no. Unless it's a fast food take out fake sushi joint, then usually they give a plastic spoon. LOL

| When my son was about 8 years old, he had a friend over for dinner. I did the 'full roast' thing. He ate the lot with his hands, then tipped the plate towards his mouth and drank the gravy. We all looked a bit gobsmacked - but he told us he was a Ninja..... |

| I get the big spoon even when there are no noodles involved! I'm going to experiment the next time I'm in a big city. In DC, I got a spoon but there were definitely noodles. Dunno if I've ever had miso in NYC, but I'll have to remember the next time I go. I'm now determined to go somewhere and not get a spoon.

| LOL!!! Maybe in NYC. But then again, maybe it's a Cali thing? Whenever I've gone in a proper sit down, non takeout, non fast food place, I've never gotten a spoon. I haven't traveled much to the east coast at all. I do use my chopsticks though. I eat the tofu and seaweed first, then swish around the miso and drink it down. Oh also when they give you samples of miso soup at the markets, they never have spoons. They just ladle it into a small foam cup and give that to you.
