Have you guys ever had the chinese dish Honey Walnut Shrimp? It is sweet, but not as sweet as "coconut shrimp" It's battered and fried then coated with a sweet mayo type sauce with sesame seeds and candied toasted walnuts. The sweet is mostly in the walnuts. If it's done correctly the sauce doesn't make the batter soggy. I never could understand why it's so expensive though, usu about $16+, but it's so good! Sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy.

I love it I have it at Panda express it is so good so is kobari beef. Now I think at panda express they charge like a dollar or 2 more for that dish but its not bad priced

Oh, I meant like at a Chinese seafood restaurant. I don't eat at panda express, I'm Chinese lol!

LOL thats my version of chinese. Now there is one authentic Chinese restaurant that I go to that I love but they dont have the honey walnut shrimp. Panda express is really good for junk chinese food though and I love their chow mein noodles

omg, does that ever look good!!! i dont think they have that here though

I think any authentic chinese (cantonese particularly) seafood restaurant will have it. But most likely it would have to be a seafood restaurant, and on the dinner menu only. If you have a dim sum restaurant, they should have it on the dinner menu.

That looks totally delicious! I don't think I have ever seen a restaurant labeled as "Chinese Seafood"......I will have to pay more attention I guess

Yes they do. The noodles at Panda and those types of chinese fast food places use noodles that are WAY too thick. They're like udon. They are supposed to be thin and chewy like in wonton noodle soup. Also egg noodles, but much thinner.

ETA oh you said chow FUN, those are the wide flat rice noodles. We eat those here, but don't know if Panda has them as I don't eat there.

Really? Do you have dim sum restaurants there? Those will usually have it, or the more pricier places.
