I have been out of the kitchen since the end of June due to my leg surgery, so I'm out of the "cooking habit". I hope to initiate some new tasting rules for myself.

1) Taste only when absolutely necessary
2) Use a baby spoon for dipping out sample
3) Put only a dab on the tip of the baby spoon

Hopefully this will help in keeping off the pounds I've shed during my recovery.

I am also going to implement a 20 minute rule. If I want a second helping (after a first helping of adequate size

) then I need to wait 20 minutes after eating to see if I am truly still hungry or just in love with eating

I am also not going to waste calories on sub par food. If I don't LOVE it, I will discontinue eating it

Lets see if I can stick to it

I have a big problem with that too as I hate to throw away food when there are staving kids all around the world. Who am I to throw away food? So I eat it.

What are you allergic to? Multiple things?

I have a SIL who is a Celiac ~ that would be a tough life for me to live

We cruised together last November and I was pleasantly surprised at how much she WAS able to eat tho. Not near what I was able to eat, but more than I imagined possible for her...

Celiac disease - sprue - PubMed Health

Basically its a gluten intolerance. And gluten is in everything

Oh... I hear a lot of people are allergic to gluten and they don't even know it. That's why they feel so gross after eating, and just blame it on the itis.

She has multiple problems but the Celiac is one that she for sure needs to watch. She even has separate pans and plates, utensils and toaster oven
