| Pantry/Freezer inventory I need to get a handle on my food inventory. I buy stuff only to find out I already had it. I would love to have an iPad app for this purpose. I have searched and found a couple but what I saw didn't review very well. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | It's not an ipad ap, but I modified a little check list for my freezer to help me see at a glance what I have in there. When I inventory, I make a single slash mark to indicate the number of items I have. When I take one out, I cross mark the other direction to make an X. It's really easy for me to see quickly that I have 5 pounds of ground beef or 3 bags of broccoli, etc.

| That would be a neat app to have! Usually whenever I run out of something, I write it down on the list on the fridge. I also mentally go through my cabinets and think about what is missing, since I everything has it's own spot.

| What I need to do is have NO-BUY Frugal February and live off from what I already have in the house! I think I can get by with only picking up bread milk eggs and a few fresh fruits and veggies! Anyone else want to do a Pantry Clean out challenge??

| I keep a running grocery list on my fridge too but my chest freezer is in the basement and I usually send a kid down for something that I need. lol I don't have food in my cabinets, it is all in my pantry. The way it is right now, if I go through it mentally, I get scared and then run away. LOL

I would like for him to develop a program that would keep the inventory - when you use an item, you scan it or type in the upc and it removes it from inventory and adds it to the list. Then when you go to the grocery store your phone would TELL you to pick up the item/quantity as you walk past it on the isle. Hummm I don't want much. | |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I like to tell myself that the pantry full of cans and freezer full of veggies and such are my emergency supplies. In case of earthquake or other disaster, we would have enough to live on for several weeks. |
