It's not an ipad ap, but I modified a little check list for my freezer to help me see at a glance what I have in there. When I inventory, I make a single slash mark to indicate the number of items I have. When I take one out, I cross mark the other direction to make an X. It's really easy for me to see quickly that I have 5 pounds of ground beef or 3 bags of broccoli, etc.
