This thread is making me so hungry!

Two of my favorite things in the world are fresh cucumber (yuuuummmm) and fresh fried okra.

I have fresh okra in my backyard garden - I get enough to grill or fry about every 5 days. It sure it good!

We get them all year here...but they are not as flavorful as midwest "maters IMHO

Yes I dry tomatoes (and everything else

) it concentrates the flavor tenfold at least

I love fried green tomatoes as well (as long as they are done well)

I had a horrible experience once looking up ways to rid my tomato plants of tomato worms

and what google came up with were RECIPES for those disgusting tomato worms

I can no longer eat a slimy fried green tomato

well... I go to the farmers market in homestead and get some good tomatoes.
I have made a ton of pasta sauce and frozen it in the past. Yum!!!

ok... my favorite sandwich is...a take on a grill cheese with tomato

one slice of bread lightly buttered

one slice of bread with a few slices of tomato
salt and pepper
tsp of mayo
slice of cheese on top of tomatoes (maybe two if large piece of bread)

place both under broiler of a toaster oven
toast buttered bread until lightly brown
toast second until the cheese melts

top with buttered sliced that was also toasted

soooo good the melted cheese and the warm tomato!!

so I picked 70 pounds of tomatoes. Cost me a whopping $2!!

I am already tiring of the look of them and I have about 40 pounds left to "transform" somehow

The farm special goes until JUNE

Anyone want some tomatoes???

wont be long now, plants are starting to grow little tomatoes--so ill be at it again. gardens looking good, should be a bumper crop of everything this year. i planted xtra green beans, so i will be busy again very soon.

how are you guys drying your tomatoes? i think id like to try it. are you using a dehydrator? or doing them outside?
