| I only have tomatoes, peppers and okra right now. I only plant what I can eat (or give to my friends) as I just don't have time to can. I wish I did though, so I could enjoy them all year long like you. A friend of mine came and harvested my tomatoes while we were gone on vacation in June and she canned them and gave me 5 quarts, so I will have a few 'maters later. I'm hoping to keep my tomato plants alive so that if it ever cools off, they may set on again. We'll see. It's pretty hot and I don't know if they'll make it. I planted winter squash a couple of weeks ago and I'll plant some broccoli and cauliflower here pretty soon. We are lucky in that the cool plants will grow and produce most of the winter here.

| Wow...it sounds like you have some serious tomato bushes! I only have a small garden with a couple bushes of tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, and tons of herbs. I love to can, but two weekends in a row does sound exhausting! Although.....I bet you are going to love all those winter dinners with all those fresh tomato sauces and salsa's! Yummy |

| they will be tastey this winter indeed!--i have about 15 plants---but working 50 hours a week and canning on the weekends sure gets exhausting. i think my garden might have another month or so before it will start to die off, cant grow anything in the winters here. would be nice though. finally got to have some spagetti squash, those are starting to ripen well. and in about 2 more weeks my sweet pumkins will be ready for canning--family is spoiled with pies made from fresh pumkin for the holidays.

| I've got about 8 plants. Some are in 2 topsy turveys ? and the rest in the ground. The ones in the ground are doing much better than the topsy turvey ones. We have have quite a few ripen. My favorite is tomatoes, basil and mozzarella chesse sprinkled with olive oil and a little salt and pepper.

| I'm jealous! I want so much to get my veggie garden but hubby has been too busy to help. !!! next year I will. I do have grape tomato plants coming out of my ears though. I bought a six pack last year and gave away soooo many to anyone who even mentioned they like them. lol Well, the plants came back this year to my pleasant surprise. My topsy turvy and upside down planter have produced lots of green peppers and a few smallish regular tomatoes but nothing to really write home about. I really want to get a decent veggie garden going so I can can/freeze stuff.

| I made the EASIEST recipe in the world today and my husband was wild about it! I used canned tomatoes from my garden (my friend canned them for me when I was on vacation). Breaded Tomatoes 2 - 12 oz jars of canned tomatoes (this is a cup and a half in each jar) 5 slices of bread - torn in bite size pieces 1/2 cup sugar (I used splenda) salt and pepper to taste Heat tomatoes in a sauce pan Add the sugar (splenda), salt and pepper Add the bread Heat all Put in a bowl and top with a pat of butter I added some more splenda to my bowl because I like my breaded tomatoes a little on the sweet side. I didn't put any butter on mine either to save a few calories and it was still yummy. You could add more or less bread depending on whether you like your breaded tomatoes juicy or drier. My husband ate two bowls!
