New to YT Hi everyone, I just got my baby Mamba last week. She is about 11 weeks old and is such a bundle of joy. My husband and I recently got married in November, and I was starting to get baby fever, so whats a better way to start with a puppy Lol. She is working very hard on her potty training and has not gone in the house for two days now, hey thats a start! She goes in for her second set of shots this week, I am anxious to get the series done so she can get out and socialize with other yorkies like her! She came from a litter of 2 sisters and 2 brothers and boy let me tell you I had a blast watching them play the night we picked her up! If anyone is from the Portland Metro area I'd love to set a play date for the future! Thanks, Stacie

Hey Stacie! My name is Carrie. We live in Scappoose. We just got our little Tucker in December. he is 17 weeks now, and has been soo much fun! We got him around 11 weeks, as well! It is amazing how quickly she will grow, so take lots of pics and enjoy every minute. We should get together for a puppy playdate sometime. Tucker, doesn't have any close friends his size . He has two skin sisters; Ashlyn is 9, and Elise is 7. But he is an only fur sibling in our home . We have a lot of friends with Yorkies, and connections for the best organic treats, food, clothing, bows, etc. So if you are interested, let me know and I'll pass some info your way. I have been very fortunate to have alot of Experienced Yorkie friends, that have tried products and so on...so that has been very helpful! Enjoy your little Mamba!

Hi Carrie! Thanks for sharing! How big is Tucker? Mamba weighs 5lbs 6oz, the dr thinks she is gonna be a big one, which does not make much sense since mom was 5lbs and dad 4lbs. But I still love her to pieces Id love to get our babies together since she is the only pet in the household, its just the three of us. I've been trying to get her out walking on her leash but still kinda scared since she has not had her series of 3 shots, kinda paranoyed I guess how far are you from Beaverton?

Hello fellow Oregonians !!! I'm in Redmond I'm new to YT and was beginning to think I was a lone ranger here in the Pacific Northwest Glad to see I have neighbors on YT!!! I have 2 yorkie gals...a 2 yo and a 17 wk old pup who's a hand full. What's strange I've found is that I don't remember Tiki being this active when she was this age ! Niki is a "pre" teapot, weighing in at almost 8 pounds so far. I find myself reading about the rescue's and pups needing transporting and how some of the YT gals pitching in to help each other. Now that I know there are others in Oregon, I'd like to let you know that I'm here to help if needed in transporting furbabies. Thanks for starting this thread - Much appreciated

New to Yorkie Talk I'm in Grants Pass, Oregon I have one little girl Roseii just over two years old and we are looking for a little sister for her. She adopted a cat and thought that was really cool while the cat was house bound waiting to be fixed and healed up enough to be allowed outside. They played like crazy thick as thieves and all that. Only the cat discovered the dog door once she was healed up and now she goes outside unless I lock her in... and poor Roseii sits at the door and watches and watches waiting for her playmate to come home. >.> Gigi pretty much comes home to sleep and eat now and barely plays with Roseii who is devastated. We tried playing with the dog next door... not totally successful... he is a sweet boy but Roseii thinks he is to dominant.. either that or she just doesn't know what to do with a dog with as much energy as she has! Her cousins are much more sedate then she is. I don't know a lot of people around here, the dog next door is the only dog we know so unfortunately litte Roseii is lacking in the social aspects of dog society.

Your baby sure is cute...my Tiki is almost 2 yo, Niki is 6 mo today. Sure wish we lived closer to each other, Niki would love to play with Roseii ! She's a ball of energy and could go non-stop all day. She LOVES to play and is constantly trying to get Tiki to play with her. Problem is Tiki isn't interested much in playing, she'd rather kick back and sun bathe, nap and take walks. I too was looking for a playmate for Tiki, thought she'd like to have a pal around....it's been a challenge for us all since Niki wants to play all the time. Niki doesn't understand why Tiki doesn't want to run around the yard at 80 mph Are you looking for another yorkie playmate for Roseii? ...or another breed of dog? Glad to see you on YT.... | |

Oh my goodness you so get it! SOU is a great college I graduated SOU a while back too. Roseii is an 80 mile an hour dog once she gets comfey with another dog her cousin Curry my moms dog is like Tiki... shes a lover not a runner!! I am definately looking for another Yorkie.. Roseii is not speaking to me right now *l* I gave her a bad haircut in her mind but in my defense when I did it she and the cat were wrestling every day and every time I put her hair up the cat took it down and she was sucking hair down her throat and choking on it!! I don't think she believes me that it will grow back! But I couldn't take it after the fourth time in as many hours of pulling hair out of her I cut off everything that was wet. now she has hair that sticks strait up between her eyes. I think its kinda cute... she thinks I'm High! I have been around Yorkies most my life... and I'll tell you Roseii has more energy then any them did... combined! I call her my energizer bunny rabbit.. cause she just keeps going as long as you do *until she passes out*. She is more mellow just around me but company comes and she turns into a wiggle machine! I am working on trying to mellow her out and she is trying but the people are not listening as well as she is!! hehehe So yes, we are looking for a reasonably priced little sister for her sanity and mine the hard part is finding one that is still from someone I feel is doing right by the breed since the breeder I got roseii from is not breeding at this time and hasn't any firm plans to beed any time soon or I would Ideally wait for her to have another puppy because Roseii is a jewel everyone loves I would delight in another from her bloodlines... but it seems its not to be *chuckles* cause I don't think Roseii or I want to wait that long for a little sister for Roseii and another kid for me. Since all my babies are going to be furries.

Isn't it funny how furbabies know when they don't like their style of haircut, lol. Tiki is the same way, if she gets a "good" cut, she prances around like she's showing it off....but when it's a "bad" cut, she acts like she wants to hide all the time. Yorkies are so awesome, the thing I love most is their personalities....each has their own. I found a website the other day that has dog personalities according to their date and month of birth. What I read on my two is exactly spot on ! Kinda strange, it marked both of them to a "T". Do you have more pictures of your baby? The avatar pix are so small... is Roseii a "wee" one or a chunky girl? Both mine are "tea pots" :-) Vicki, Tiki and Niki

Here's the link to the personality/astrology signs for yorkies...my two girls are "spot on" as far as their personalities and temperments, kinda spooky actually. Birth Signs for Yorkies - Yorkie Dogs Astrology Sorry for the confusion...I'm NOT looking for another furbaby. I see from the prior posts how you'd think it was me that was looking...another YT'er mentioned in her post that she was looking for a sister for her baby, someone to play and romp around with. My Niki, who just turned 6 mo yesterday, is full of vim and vinegar! ... she and my 2 year old Tiki, don't really see eye-to-eye as far as playing goes. Tiki would rather take a nap and lay in the sun rather than play. She's always been that way and I've had her since she was 12 wks old. My husband and I have talked about maybe finding Niki a new home where she can be herself, play full time and have another dog that likes to play with her. We don't want to try and make Niki into something she's not, that would be so sad. She's a gorgeous little lady and going to reach about 10-12 pounds full grown. She's a total sweetheart and loves to cuddle and give kisses too. I keep telling myself, "tomorrow will be better...", meaning that Tiki maybe will want to play with Niki... | |

Leroy enjoys life so much more now. He's got mom and dad all to himself now. He enjoys stretching out in his very own sunbeam and without worry about being pestered. Life is good! http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/.../DSCF03952.jpg

Leroy is a handsome boy! Oh, what a great picture Cat ! Leroy looks like he's totally happy... So, what was the deciding factor when you rehomed Ruby? Sounds like you were at your wits end like I am... Tiki has always been the lone ranger around here and she's having a really tough time adjusting to another furbaby. She just doesn't have that sparkle in her eyes and bounce in her step anymore. I am so torn Niki is just a sweetie pie, real lovey dovey and smoochey...she just wants to play! I know she's in her "puppy" stages and will settle down with age but do I continue down this road with Tiki upset all the time? Yuck, I don't know what to do .....

Happy Mothers day everyone!! Oh yea she knows about her hair... every time I take out the hair brush I swear she checks me out to make sure I don't have the nippers too now! Cat, I am sorta leaning towards puppyish I got roseii at 16/17 weeks-ish and it was a good age not to young roseii is a petite just shy of 4lb girl that seems lighter even when she is using me as furniture. I would like to get another girl that is expected to be about the same size or not much larger I don't want a lot of disparity in size so they don't take each other out when trying to play. I have an appointment to meet a breeder that is only about 2hrs away I want to see the set up and all that even if I don't get a pup just yet. I will know where she is and how I feel about her then. I will have to get some pictures of roseii up where I can link them but now its bed time... I didn't get much sleep last night >.> and getting up at three was waayyy to early this morning and its up at three again tom. so.. We girls are going to snuggle and hit the sack early... its funny Roseii already knows cause she was up with me with insomnia all night last night she keeps looking at me as I sit here then walking towards the hall like... "are you not done yet mom... come on already" So I'm taking her advice... *lol* night all...
