She probably won't eat and will be really uncomfortable. I remember the cats we had panting some around that time too.

She will have the same signs as a pregnant bitch . Her temp will drop , she will be nervous and will try to hide to give birth .

Dawn thank you for identifying our Maggie for us -- she is a floppy cat and appears to have all the traits of a ragdoll as far as the reading I have done on them anyway its just hard to believe anyone would toss her into the SPCA

You have yourself a bi-colour ragdoll!!! What a beauty!! Ragdolls are generally what their namesake is...floppy in your arms like a ragdoll and VERY big cats!! They take 3 years to mature to their full size!! What a great raggie you have there!! I havent noticed her eating too much although she is using the litter box regularly...I know I am supposed to leave her be but I went in to turn on a radio for her and change her litter and she looks so scared..so I sat beside her box and talked to her softly for about 25 mins...her tummy is twitching or whats the word....quivering...it almost looks like a stomach would look if you were about to throw up..except she isnt..she is just sleeping..are the babies kicking?? Is she contracting do you think?? I guess time will tell...I feel so sad for her even though she took a chunk outa my hand again..I have to stop trying to pet her..

Your welcome!! I dont know why people drop off cats or dogs to the SPCA..I saw a yorkie there the other day and it broke my heart in two...went back and it was just a lost dog tg..but there are so many beautiful ones there and you wonder why people turn them or let them loose..

Yes , she is a flame point . She had 3 females . She'll be spayed after the kittens are weaned .

How is Flower today ? I hope she is beginning to adjust to your home .

Just checking to see if you sweet Flower has Bloomed . Hope all is good. I am sure she'll do Fine And I hope hubby didn;t get scratched to to bad. Poor guy.

This morning Flower had her vet appointment and we got the all clear from the vet..he thinks she will have the kittens within the next 7-10 days (sounds like my mail lady when I mail a parcel lmbo). He thinks she looks a little thin and probably wont gain any weight and will probably eat less now that she is close to being due but her appitite will pick up once again after she has the kittens.

I sat with her last night and thought she would like me to pet her but instead she scratched me...you can see I cant read kitty signals too well lol..today she was a different cat again..purring and loving and wanting to be held??? Weirdo..lol..no kittens yet..she is licking alot on her belly I noticed..more than the average cleaning that my own cats do. She already has stolen my heart..I even have the love scars to prove it lol...no matter what she does I am going to love this cat whether she likes it or not!! lol..

I will keep you posted!!

Ok..how do you tell the sex of a newborn kitten?? Probably have to have year of experience to do that right? I need a biology lesson lol..what a lovely bunch of girls she had..keep the pics coming!!

I just wanted to add...Phil says "you called her Flower???" I think you should call her a wild Rose lol...she is quite wild thats for sure!! But Im sticking with flower cause she has yet to bloom..but Im sure she will!!

look at it this way. makes it easy although still really hard early on..
A female kitten's genitals will resemble an upside-down exclamation point with the vertical vaginal slit below the anus.
A male kitten's organ will look more like a colon.
Also, the female's vaginal opening is closer to the anus than the male's budding penis, which may have very small lumps between it and the anus, which will develop into testicles.
