| SHANATANK- If you're looking at an Allergy/shedding issue, please look up a SIBERIAN cat. No joke, yes it's a breed. In fact, here's a link: http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/siberian.html Otherwise, if you're wanting to adopt, I'd recommend looking at a cat w/ a LONGER coat w/ more top coat than anything. And just brush it as often as you would your Yorkie. The only thing they're really prone to is dandruff if not brushed often enough. But if it's the hair you're worried about then a short coat really should be out of the question for you. I've got a friend that competes w/ Somali's and Angora's under the CFA organization and this is where I'm getting most of this from, that and first hand knowledge. Just my two cents. I hope this helps! By the way, I ADOPT all of my kitties-except one I did buy that's CFA registered. lol (couldn't resist) |

I have owned cats my entire life...at one point I had 6...I have NEVER heard of a non-shedding cat except the sphinx but, (sorry if anyone here owns one) they aren't very pretty...I researched ALOT before I got my cat...I have a 22 lb Maine Coon...he does shed but it's not like little hairs here and there...it's like furballs LOL,,,,that's the only way I can describe it! I have allergies too...I'm sure having him doesn't help....McKenzi is 13 yrs old now and when he's gone I probably won't be getting another cat...because of my allergies...I just can't get rid of him...I've had him since he was 10 weeks old.. Good Luck in your search Shana!

| Yes.. the foundation bengals (1-3 generations away from the Leopard) are crazy! The Savannahs aren't (which is why I'm partial). I've had experience with both but would much rather have the Serval. I love exotic animals! We'll also be adding a Fennec Fox to the group! |

I also love exotic animals and I really wanted a Bengal but, after talking to that guy I was a little nervous about getting one...that's why I went with the Maine Coon...he is a brown tabby...22 lbs, has a very ferral look to him,...as a kitten he was a sweetheart but, as he is getting older he is getting grumpy... Please post a pic of the fox...I would love to see it... O...wanted to ask you....do you need a special license to own these animals? here in mass you do...I mean the fox...not the cat..

Found a wonderful Fennec Fox breeder that is only asking $950+ shipping.. Roughly the same price as a yorkie.. They're only about 2-3lbs full grown but they love to play play play! My Diva needs a buddy because her and my bulldog can't really wrestle although she tries! I do plan on getting another yorkie (I posted a want ad in the for sale section) but I'm all about being different!! Here are pics of a Fennec | |

| I am not much help, but congrats on getting a cat. Years ago, we had a long hair black cat w/ the biggets eyes you have ever seen. I can't remember what she was now and I don't have any of her paperwork anymore (told you I wouldn't be much help). Anyway, she didn't shed....she was more like a long haired dog......her hair was always a shiny, silky like Yorkie hair and we might find one long strand every now and then, but that was it. She was mean though.....boy, was she mean! That was the only cat that we ever had that didn't bother our allergies! She also liked to hunt outside....she would bring in birds, baby bunnies, etc....to show us! YUCK! But she was an inside cat. She was never matted or the dry looking hair and we never had to do anything special to keep it shiny and long and perfect looking. We rehomed her when we got Mojo because she was huge and mean and to be honest, we didn't trust her w/ him.........I don't think it was that breed of cat (I hope I can think of it) but more of how she was rasied.......we got her when she was several years old. Let me run downstairs and then I will post a picture and maybe someone can tell what she was. When we rehomed her, the new owners got all of her stuff and her "file" - yes, we have a file for all of our animals, pretty much have too, ya know?! So, we no longer have the paperwork about her. Give me a minute and then I will post a picture!

| Okay, here are the pictures I said I would post......really, Shana, this was a great cat on shedding, allergies, etc........just wish I remembered what she was -maybe someone can help. I wish we could find another cat like this.....we have tried a few cats, but w/ my daughters allergies and mine, we couldn't have them. BUT Sassy, we never had a problem w/!!! She was solid black - except for a "star" on her chest/neck. She didn't have much hair between each ear and eye (if that makes sense). Long sleek shiny hair - never matted or shed....every now and then, we would find a strand of hair, but that was it. Hope the pictures come through alright! | Oh, one thing that I remember about having Sassy, that I DIDN'T like was the CAT BOX! I can not stand a litter box! No matter what we used, and we tried everything on the market, I could smell the litter box.......even if we kept it cleaned out and moved it to another floor! You might want to think about that and then it being where the dogs can get to it. - You know, they say dogs like the little snacks in there! YUCK!!!! I wonder how easy it is to potty train on the toilet??? HA!
