Now I grew up with cats and have always loved them. I want to get a kitten for christmas as I think a kitten would be best for getting used to my dogs and vice versa. I really want to adopt a kitten too becasue I feel there are just too many cats/kittens that need homes so I need to focus on one of them. SO where do I begin looking? I always see cats at Petsmart when they do their adoptions on the weekend up I never really see many kittens. Also is there certain breeds of cats that might shed less? Or be better for people with alergies? Penny does enough shedding over here for a whole zoo of animals, lol.
I really want a persian as they are my favorite but I seriously doubt I'd find one up for adoption |
It is possible to find a persian in a shelter...just like finding a yorkie in a shelter...however...Persian's shed! and....they can be dirty...I have known several people who have owned them and they won't use the litter box..don't know why but, I have heard this alot.
I have owned cats my entire life...at one point I had 6...I have NEVER heard of a non-shedding cat except the sphinx but, (sorry if anyone here owns one) they aren't very pretty...I researched ALOT before I got my cat...I have a 22 lb Maine Coon...he does shed but it's not like little hairs here and there...it's like furballs LOL,,,,that's the only way I can describe it! I have allergies too...I'm sure having him doesn't help....McKenzi is 13 yrs old now and when he's gone I probably won't be getting another cat...because of my allergies...I just can't get rid of him...I've had him since he was 10 weeks old..
Good Luck in your search Shana!
