| Kitten Question! Hi everyone, So… this is a non Yorkie related question – I recently adopted/ saved/ rescued a little tiny baby kitten. He’s about 6 weeks old, and the smallest thing I’ve ever seen. (maybe next to my Yorkie when he was a baby) lol My little guy is eating wet food, some dry food, and still nursing the bottle a bit in the mornings + at night. My question is – Is it best to leave him locked in my bathroom during the day while I’m at work? Or let him roam around my bedroom? I feel bad locking him up but I don’t want him to feel too overwhelmed in a big room alone either. I’ve had him for 4 days today. I have his litter box, water, covered bed, blankets, and food in the bathroom with him, but it’s a pretty small space. I’m just not sure what would be more comfortable for him Any advice would be great! Side note_ My yorkie just ADORES the kitten. I'm so happy that he will have a good friend eventually |

| I think these tiny little critters feel much more secure and safe in small, enclosed areas. I think that baby will be thrilled to death to be in your bathroom, wandering around, small area, but safe with herbed, toys, food and litter box. |

| I agree, at 6 wks this kitten still needs to be watches very closely when out of the bathroom as there are many dangers , such as electrical cords. Also be SURE the toilet lid is closed as he can actually drown in the toilet. |

| Keep him in an enclosed area... It is much too dangerous to leave him out. I kept infant kittens in the bath tub one time when I was not home to watch them. I had to bottle feed them, so they were younger than your little guy, but I definitely would not let a 6 week old kitten have free roam just yet.

| Definitely go with the bathroom. At this size, it's going to be the safest place for both your kitty and your sanity! He will have plenty of space to move around, but won't be able to get lost under furniture or into trouble. My Tink was just 3 1/2 weeks old and weighed 10 oz when I got her. I dropper fed her until she was big enough to bottle nurse. Her first bed was a shoe box and the lid was her litter box. These were in a laundry basket in my bathroom. Other than one week she was fostered by my vet's receptionist/tech while we were on vacation, she pretty much stayed in there until she was 100% litter trained and eating solid food.
