Definitely go with the bathroom. At this size, it's going to be the safest place for both your kitty and your sanity! He will have plenty of space to move around, but won't be able to get lost under furniture or into trouble.

My Tink was just 3 1/2 weeks old and weighed 10 oz when I got her. I dropper fed her until she was big enough to bottle nurse. Her first bed was a shoe box and the lid was her litter box. These were in a laundry basket in my bathroom. Other than one week she was fostered by my vet's receptionist/tech while we were on vacation, she pretty much stayed in there until she was 100% litter trained and eating solid food.
