Cushings disease

Another Coco update...she has been on her UTI meds for 2 days and WOW I can see a huge change! I am starting to wonder if she hasn't had a UTI longer and that is what's bothering her too. Thank you Ann and Patti She is doing soooo much better just with the UTI meds. I feel bad to think she had it for longer than I knew I am glad she is doing better. I hope in the next week she will start the medicine for Cushings. I will keep everyone posted

I can definitely tell you that I've seen/read so many threads here where a UTI diagnosis was evasive bc the symptoms were vague or odd. Even w/ people who are SO on top of their dog's healthcare (just like you are) have a delayed diagnosis from the vet of a UTI, for various and valid reasons. Plus, it gets more confusing bc dogs mask things so well at times.

Don't beat yourself up, she gets such incredible care! I do know how you feel though...I've missed so many things w/ my babies, things I couldn't put my finger on - and afterward felt so bad! Btw, I can't remember if I told you via our PMs that Wylie's Cushings was misdiagnosed by his vet for over a YEAR . She kept telling me that his symptoms were nothing.

Thanks Ann! Awe poor Wylie that's terrible it took so long to diagnose! I really think because of you and other people here I was able to guide my vet in the right direction. Otherwise I wouldn't have any knowledge of Cushings. Coco still hasnt' started the meds for it but there has been such a big improvement since the UTI meds are almost done. One thing we noticed today is she is either going blind or is completely blind She has started to walk into things in the house. Gosh this is so sadI keep reminding myself she has lived such a great long life for a Boxer.
