| Abandoned newborn kitten My son walking to work today comes across a kitten born today umbilical cord still attatched. He can not find the momma nor is it in an area where there are homes. We take the kitten to the vet who says it is healthy and could survive. Now we are bottle feeding every hour and pottying a kitten. Any ideas or sugggestions would be greatly appreciated...

| Awww, I hope your little one survives! How nice of you to do this! I would love to see pics! I would imagine you should get a heating pad or a hot water bottle to keep your little one warm for not - if they are like puppies. And I would weigh a few times a day to make sure he/she is gaining weight. Are you feeding every 2 hours? Good luck, I'll be rooting for you guys! |

| whats with cats this week My son who did not own a cat just found a newborn baby kitten outside in a barrell where his deceased dog use to sleep it was crying, so he took it in and has been feeding it. I gave him a can of goat milk & a bottle. He has had it since monday and watched for the mom to come back but she never did, he says it is growing a lot, so hopfully it is going to be ok

We found her a rescue home in Red Bluff California that weekend...almost 2 hours from us. My son tried but was sooo worried he was gonna kill her...she weighed 3.2 oz and was lost in his hands. We kept her alive but never felt we were doing a good job at feeeding her. The lady we took her to lives on 6 acres in the country and has dedicated her life to rescuing cats. She had ALOT of cats!! Not a crazy cat lady just yet but headed there. Her house smelled of cats but did not look dirty if you know what I mean. She seemed very knowledgeable and had the kitten nursing seconds after we arrived. She made it look soooo easy. We felt very comfortable with leaving the kitten with her.

| That's great!! I'm glad you found somewhere to take her!! If I let him, DH would open a cat rescue! It's nice to know that places exist that cater to cats! We just have dog and cat rescues together here! |
