| Cockatiel Babies I now have cockatiel babies... my Freddie and Peral have had two other babies before in the past , however did not take care of them and they died. This time around they are being good parents! I did not even know about the baby until yesterday . My son was about to take out the female when he saw something moving, then called me.... MOM their is a BABY! OMG, their certainly are All night long I can hear them! Goodness gracious they are noisy, LOL . LIttle baby birds peeping all night long When A baby cockatiel is born it is blind with hardly any feathers... Very fraglie and tiny. I am excited that the parents are taking care of their offspring . It is adorable to hear them peeping all the time! I hope they survive... i'll need anther cage !

| Yes, Cockateials are gorgeous! And very easy to care for ! The African Grey is my dream bird... They are extemely smart too. Whatever bird you decide on be sure it is handfed. They make ideal pets being handfed as babies. Otherwise they will be harder to train and not be as nice . If the African Grey becomes stressed out then all kinds of health problems can occur. Feather plucking especially. As with any new pet education is the most important thing to do beforehand. Best wishes to you!

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Congratulations on your baby cockatiels, I bet they are cute....or at least will be when they get a little bigger and have feathers. Years ago I used to have zebra finches and they had quite a few "litters" of baby finches. It was always fun to watch them grow from itty bitty, tiny, helpless bald little creatures to the beautiful little birds they became. It also amazed me at how quickley those changes occured. Good luck with your babies......hope they thrive. I too would love to see pictures of them.

| Congrats on the babies! I've tried to get my two to mate but no matter how much JuJu flirts with Cosmo, he's so gender-challenged that he runs to his mirror and flirts with himself. All we ever get are lots of empty eggs. Your little babes will be so much fun to watch. Are you going to hand feed them? I have friends that have had several babies and have always hand fed them. It's so cool to watch. Good luck and don't forget to post some pics.

this is the first time the parents are taking care of the babies... We have lost a few because they would just peck at the newborns! I am too scared to try and handfeed .. Their are so many risks. I'll let the parents takes care of them, and when they are older start letting them get use to being held. All day and night we get to hear the sound of little peeps . It is so adorable. That is why I know they are alive and thriving. YAY! Both mom and dad are taking care of these babies, so I do not get to see them much yet! I believe are just days old. I will try and get some pictures, however do not want to disturb mom and dad! LOL, they probably would take my finger off !

I can't wait to see pics. And, I understand about taking your finger off - Cosmo will guard an empty box like an angry bear. It's pretty scarey.

| Male Cockatiels are such characters!!!! Freddie has always been the boss and had already learned to whistle to songs , and flirt before I even got him as a baby ! The owners had a Parrot too, so I figured that is where all the cockatiels learned their antics ! The female , is so sweet, Peral, She was a handfed baby. Their is a huge difference between the handfed and the not. But, i am going to work with these babies when they get older myself. I still can't see much of them right now, the parents are keeping them warm , and are gaurding them ... However, they sure are noisy little babes. That's how I know they are ok. LOL

| I am the mama of a 2 week old African Grey... It will be a while before I get to bring him/her home as she has to stay at the breeders until prox. 12 weeks old and weaned. But, I get to visit on the weekends.
