| I'm going to have to take Chloe back to the humane society tomorrow. It disappoints me, makes me angry, sad, pissed off - EVERYTHING! I honestly didn't think she was going to bother my allergies. My mom has a cat and I lived there for years with him and he maybe bothered me once or twice and it was mild. He has long hair too like Chloe does and was on the furniture, carpet, beds - everywhere! I've still been keeping Chloe in my bathroom and I can't go potty or go in there and play with her or do anything without coming back out sneezing my head off and having my eyes itch. I've washed my hands after I get finished being in the bathroom for anything and my hands are so dry they're bleeding. It makes me so mad, you have no idea. I just don't think, actually I know I can't have her in here on my furniture and on the carpet and me live a normal life. I'm so glad I haven't let her in here yet so I don't have to scrub everything down. I'm taking her back tomorrow after I call them and let them know I'm coming. Ugh. ![]()

| I am so sorry All you want to do is give this little girl a new home, and it must frustrate you that you can't even be near her. I'm puzzled that you were able to handle your mom's cat and not Chloe. I wonder if different cats have different types of dander and your body adjusted to your mom's cat. Again, I'm so sorry about Chloe

| The reason you were probably okay with your mom's cat is probably because your body got used to him/her. I have been allergic to cats all my life but have owned three. The first one my boyfriend snuck in without me knowing about it until my allergies started acting up and i was literally dying from not being able to breath. But that cat was a stray and i couldn't possibly simply tell him to throw it back outside, plus he was a good playmate for my puppy so i started taking claratin and had to take it every day for like a month. eventually i guess my body adjusted and i was able to tolerate him. (but only him when i was around any other cat my allergies would still act up) I have to do that routine twice more when we got DJ and Niko. But luckily it all worked out. I hope everything works out for you. |

| So sorry to hear that. I too am allergic but became immuned to my 2 cats that we had for almost 14 years. I was also taking Zyrtec. Claritan didn't do anything for indoor allergies for me. When my 2 were about 5 years old, hubby came home with a 5 week old kitten he almost ran over in the road and I immediately start wheezing and eyes got itchy. Now that zyrtec is over the counter, it might help?

I had the worst spell of allergies the whole way to the humane society. I cried, I've never had to take an animal back like that. I pray she goes to a good home and gets spoiled.I cleaned the bathroom when I got back home, my allergies haven't bothered me since.
