I think 90% of it is that the owner (my friend) just needs to exercise her WAY more than she does...she is literally the most hyper dog I have ever seen. 10% I think is the breed. IMO, I would never own a weim. with a yorkie---too dangerous of a situation, but that's just my choice.
I do think they are absolutely a BEAUTIFUL dog...one of the most breathtakingly beautiful breeds! |
My mom loves her weims & they are the perfect dog for her, but I would have to agree with this statement. Emma can get very rough with Logan. She will get him pinned down or tackle him & we have to really keep an eye on them. I would never feel comfortable leaving them alone together. Also Logan is a big yorkie at 12.5 lbs so I would think she would be too rough for one of the little ones. Logan usually gets sick of her wallering rather quickly & either sits on the back of the couch or asks to be held (he hates to be held).
Also they can be very hyper & very smart. They need tons of exercise, they are the perfect farm or hunting dogs. They also can suffer from severe seperation anxiety, they want to be with their owner all the time. I have heard horror stories of ones that left to their own devices will climb onto kitchen counters & eat whole roasts. They are not the right dog for everyone, but they are perfect for my mom. I just think you should do a ton of research on a breed before getting a breed.
