Anyone have a weimaraner? I was wondering does anyone have a weimaraner? We have a weimaraner pup and the yorkies are finally starting to come around her, but she doesn't mind them at all!!!! She tries to play with them but when she realizes they don't want to she'll just back off. She has got to be the best large breed I have ever had in my life!!! |

Actually, when I got my first dog, 4 yrs. ago, it was down to the Weimarainer or a Yorkie. I was really torn, but at the time we had a queen size bed, so the Yorkie won!:D One day, I would love to have one though, they are so beautiful. You got a boy or girl, and what's the name? |

a word of warning... just want to give you a heads up in the future. A girl I work with has a weimarainer and had two yorkies. One day at the beginning of the school year she had all three in the same room playing (she usually only does this when she can watch them because of size difference) when she had to leave the room for just a second. The weim. I guess got rough and shook her smallest yorkie and killed her. She was devastated. She just kept saying she only took her eyes off of them for a couple seconds. Her heart was broken, but she didn't blame the weim. She knew that she shouldn't leave them alone together because the weim. just didn't realize she was as big as she was. I just wanted to share so that you could be aware in the future and watch them while they are at play, not to scare you. They are beautiful dogs and have such a presence to them. |

My mom is on her second weim. Logan doesn't really like to play with her because she puts him in a headlock & chews on his head. When they are outside they play chase & get on really well. My mom loves the breed though. She's a farmer & can have the dog with her all the time. The breed is great for this, they are definitely one person dogs & want to be with that one person all the time. |

My close family has had them for years and years and they really are beautiful dogs .... inside and out. |

You have a blue one!!!!:) I have not seen one but I had a weim before the yorkies and he was the best. He is easy to potty train. loyal. And beautiful. very smart too and very high energy. I miss him so much. We had to find him a home because my husband said he is too smart for him:( . He jumps over our 4 foot fence, opens up the gate and knocks our trash can over  the big one:eek: . My husband is afraid because of our newborn back then. But still he is the best big dog ever. |

I have a friend who has one, they are very big, but so gentle and sweet, and beautiful too! |

My friend has one weim. and two boxers, and no offense to the OP or any of you other weim-loving folks, but that dog is JUST TOO ROUGH for my yorkies. We sometimes go over there just for an hour or something, and I MYSELF feel overwhelmed by that dog, so I can't imagine how Kobi & Kiwi must feel. I think 90% of it is that the owner (my friend) just needs to exercise her WAY more than she does...she is literally the most hyper dog I have ever seen. 10% I think is the breed. IMO, I would never own a weim. with a yorkie---too dangerous of a situation, but that's just my choice. I do think they are absolutely a BEAUTIFUL dog...one of the most breathtakingly beautiful breeds! |
