Seriously, I know what you mean. We have a neighbor who will stop up with her dog to play, she'll knock on our door to let me know she's hear, then head out to the side yard. So, I've started knocking on the front door and running to the back door to let them out. Not sure how many more times I can fool em with that one!

You have to fool your furkids to go out in the snow??!! Mine shoot out the door every chance they get...run, slide, do their business, rung their noses around in it like little nose bulldozers, then I gotta run out and give chase which they think is GREAT! and after they have me winded and froze the run single file to the back door and laugh at me (yes, they laugh...tongues hanging out and all!) while I traipse throught that cold white CRAP to come let them in...then they run in and warm up by the fire and an hour later they want to repeat it!

Maddie's new favorite trick is "trip mom on the ice" and she has succeeded several times!

No, mine are happy to go out in the snow, but they hate this solid ice we have now cuz they can't get a footing. When I walk on my yard I'm about 8" above ground level on ice (not even any snow covering)...it's hazardous

Okay, I don't tell many people this (shhhhhhh.....)

But Bernie has incontinence issues. Not just pee, but pooh too

We knew this when we got him, and now that he's been here a bit I've sort of figured out his schedule, so he's not in diaps all the time, just bedtime and when we're gone for hours.

Now, for him it's not behavioral, for THAT I recommend crate training (check out the excellent advice I gave on that thread, JK, lol), but you can imagaine that I've researched diapers. For our particular problem, those lovely doggie diapers with a hole for the tail (which, btw is in the same area where the pooh falls out) were worthless. So, I started buying these:

They aren't cheap, but they wash up really nice. In the beginning I bought one of each (and they come really small, even premie size if necessary) and that was sufficient. Since this may be a long term problem with Bernie, I went ahead an invested in a few more pairs. But honestly we were doing fine with 2. Now, since he's a boy, he also wears a belly band, but your furgirls parts would all be covered up nicely.

Oh those are darling diapers. I'm glad he has something cute to wear. But Tink's tail wouldn't fit in those. I could make a tail hole tho'. This is the first time in months that she has pooped on the carpet. pottying is another issue thought. We are still struggling mightily with that. Some days she's really good and other days she is awful!
